Daily Inspiration: Meet Jillian Hawkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Hawkins.

Hi Jillian, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Photography started as a creative outlet and passion project for me about four years ago. What began as something I enjoyed in my free time quickly grew into something I truly loved and wanted to pursue more seriously. As a wife and mom, I’ve come to appreciate just how quickly life changes and how important it is to preserve the moments that often pass by in the blink of an eye.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of documenting everything from growing families and newborns to maternity sessions, couples, and weddings. Seeing the trust my clients place in me to capture such meaningful seasons of their lives is something I never take for granted. Today, I’m based in the Austin area and run my own photography business, where I get to combine creativity with storytelling and help families create lasting memories through beautiful, authentic images. It’s truly a dream job, and I’m so grateful for where this journey has taken me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been balancing a full-time career, motherhood, and growing a photography business all at the same time. I started my business while working full time, then learned to navigate life as a mom to one daughter, and now two.

There have been plenty of late nights and busy seasons, but every challenge has helped me grow both personally and professionally. Now, I’m excited to be stepping into photography full time, which is a goal I’ve worked toward for years. It’s incredibly rewarding to build a career doing what I love while also creating more time to spend with my girls!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a family, maternity, newborn, and aspiring wedding photographer! My passion is capturing authentic moments and meaningful connections in a way that feels natural and timeless.

As a wife and mom, I understand how quickly seasons of life pass, which is why preserving memories is so important to me. I’m known for creating a relaxed, enjoyable experience that helps clients feel comfortable in front of the camera, resulting in genuine images that tell their story. What I’m most proud of is freezing the most special moments in time so my clients can fully live them.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe one of the most important factors in my success is my ability to connect with people and help them feel comfortable! Building trust with my clients allows them to relax, be themselves, and stay present in the moment rather than worrying about the camera. When people feel at ease, the genuine emotions and connections naturally come through in their photos, and that’s what helps us create images that they’ll cherish forever!
