Exploring Life & Business with Celeste Zarpas of Celestial Psyches

Today we’d like to introduce you to Celeste Zarpas.

Hi Celeste, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path to becoming a therapist was a nontraditional one. Before entering the mental health field, I had a career as a professional dancer, which gave me a deep appreciation for the connection between the body, emotions, and human experience. I returned to school in my late 20s to study psychology, where I became fascinated by the way neuroscience and psychology help us understand our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

I began my clinical career in community mental health before transitioning into private practice, where I continued expanding my understanding of trauma and healing. Through my own exploration of somatic practices and holistic approaches, I became drawn to EMDR therapy and its ability to help people process experiences that continue to impact them.

Today, in my practice, I integrate EMDR with trauma-informed and holistic approaches, grounded in clinical training and evidence-based practices. I support clients in reconnecting with themselves, healing old patterns, and creating meaningful change.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. Starting a new career in my late 20s came with an identity shift and the challenge of building a new professional path. However, once I began working with clients, I quickly knew I had found meaningful work that aligned with me.

One of the biggest challenges throughout my career has been navigating burnout and finding a way of practicing that feels sustainable. Over time, I’ve learned the importance of working with clients who are aligned with my approach and continuing to grow as a clinician. Finding EMDR and integrating trauma-informed and holistic approaches into my practice has helped me feel more connected, energized, and fulfilled by the work I do.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Celestial Psyches is a holistic psychotherapy practice for individuals who are seeking more than insight alone and who want to understand their experiences while also creating meaningful, lasting change.

I specialize in EMDR therapy, a trauma-focused approach that helps clients process and integrate difficult experiences that may continue to impact their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My work also integrates talk therapy, somatic approaches, and psychedelic integration when clinically appropriate, allowing treatment to be tailored to each individual’s needs.

What sets my practice apart is the integration of clinical expertise with a holistic perspective. I believe healing is not just about understanding our experiences intellectually, but also creating space for deeper emotional and personal transformation. I am most proud of creating a practice where clients feel seen as whole people and supported in reconnecting with themselves, healing old patterns, and creating meaningful change.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t often think about my career or business through the lens of luck. I think more about the intentional choices, hard work, and continued growth that have shaped my path. There have certainly been moments where opportunities aligned at the right time, but those moments came from years of learning, taking risks, and staying committed to the work.

Building a practice that feels aligned with my values has been a process of exploration and persistence. The biggest “luck” has been finding the modalities, clients, and direction that allow me to feel deeply connected to the work I do.
