Daily Inspiration: Meet Chloe Skelly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Skelly.

Hi Chloe, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After a nearly 10 year career in the music industry project managing festivals such as Lollapalooza, and booking concerts at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco, I found myself unemployed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Without a clear direction of where I wanted to go, I decided to launch a generic ‘event organization’ company in the Spring of 2021 with an open mind and open calendar. Fortunately, given the pandemics restrictions on weddings in the Bay Area for almost a year at this point, I found myself fielding calls left and right from brides who either had to postpone their 2020 nuptials, or desperately just needed a planner since getting engaged during a strange year. Again, with an open mind and open calendar, I just said yes to everything I could. Five years later, we are consistently recognized as one of the Top Planners in The US by publications such as The Wed and Wed Vibes. I think our clients see my background in the corporate music event space as a creative contribution to their wedding, and it’s been really fun to collaborate with clients who trust us to be just that: creative partners that see their vision and propel it forward to new ideas and designs the wedding industry hasn’t seen before.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’d be lying if I said it was completely smooth, but on the whole it’s been generally an easy ride for me. My dad is an entrepreneur who I really admire in terms of how to run a business, but the struggles have definitely come with learning an industry along the way that I truly had no idea about prior to starting this business. Everyone also has set expectations of how their wedding day should flow, despite sometimes never having had planned a wedding before, so acknowledging people’s expectations while also respecting your own boundaries has been an ever evolving learning process that I’m grateful we get to continue to do.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Luxury wedding planner specializing in custom and bold designs for the top 1% wedding budgets. We are creatives at our core with experience in corporate planning, so while we can pitch ideas all day long and really take our clients visions to the next level, we will also run the wedding like the military and make sure every single timeline piece and event is accounted for during the process – all while you never know anything that could or did go wrong.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
My music background. A lot of people ask how some of our clients are able to book fun DJ’s for their after parties and it truly is just ‘oh my friend manages them and I asked if they’d want to do it’. I’d love to explore a sector of the business where we do more music booking for private events, but I do love the creative side of design just as much if not more that it’s a really fun intersection of my background and current interests.
