Hi MJ, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Before COVID, I worked in the corporate world. When the pandemic changed everything, I decided it was time to bet on myself. I started my own business selling purses, and after a few years I transitioned into body contouring. While I enjoyed entrepreneurship, I always felt like I was meant to do something in social media. It just felt right.
I originally started creating TikTok videos just for fun, hoping to grow a following and maybe earn some extra income from views. Then I discovered people were making money reviewing products, and I immediately thought, “I can do that.” Not long after, I stumbled into TikTok LIVE selling, and after my first few lives, I was completely hooked. I couldn’t believe you could build a business simply by showing up, connecting with people, and sharing products you genuinely loved.
I’ve been going live for two years now, and it has completely changed my life. More importantly, it has changed my kids’ lives. There was a time when I struggled to pay bills and wondered how I was going to stretch every dollar just to buy groceries. Today, because of this opportunity, I’ve been able to earn more than I ever imagined, provide stability for my children, and even help support my family.
Beyond the financial success, TikTok helped me find my voice and gave me a career that I genuinely love. It hasn’t always been easy—there have been highs and lows, moments of doubt, and challenges along the way. But every obstacle has been worth it.
When I first started, not everyone believed in what I was doing. Some people questioned it, and others doubted that it could become a real career. I’m incredibly grateful that I trusted my instincts, stayed consistent, and didn’t let the opinions of others stop me.
Looking back, this journey has truly been a dream come true. I thank God every day for opening this door. What started as a simple curiosity on social media became the opportunity that transformed my life, gave my family stability, and showed me what’s possible when you’re willing to take a chance on yourself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into the person and creator I am today. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced self-doubt in the beginning. I had people who didn’t understand what I was doing or thought it wasn’t a “real job.” There were times when my lives had very few viewers, sales were slow, and I questioned if I should keep going. But I made the decision to stay consistent, learn from every setback, and trust the process.
Beyond the business challenges, I was also navigating personal struggles while trying to provide a better life for my children. There were seasons when I worried about paying bills, buying groceries, and wondering how I was going to make everything work. Those difficult moments became my motivation instead of my excuse.
Social media is constantly changing, so I’ve had to adapt over and over again. Algorithms change, products change, trends change, and some days are incredible while others are discouraging. I’ve learned that success isn’t about never failing, it’s about showing up even when things don’t go your way.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every obstacle because it taught me resilience, discipline, and faith. Every challenge pushed me to grow, and today I’m living proof that consistency, hard work, and believing in yourself can completely change your life. If I had listened to the people who doubted me, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Instead, I chose to keep going, and that decision changed everything.

M Body Beauty began as my body contouring business, and although my career has evolved, the name has stayed with me because it represents something much bigger. To me, “M Body Beauty” is a reminder that we all need to embody beauty—not just on the outside, but through confidence, self-love, and believing in ourselves.
Today, I am a full-time TikTok Shop affiliate and LIVE creator. I help consumers discover products through authentic demonstrations, honest reviews, and engaging live shopping experiences. My audience trusts me because I only recommend products I genuinely believe in, and I focus on creating a fun, welcoming environment where people can shop with confidence.
What sets me apart is my authenticity. I don’t try to be someone I’m not. I show up as myself, connect with my community, and treat every viewer like family. Over the past two years, I’ve built a business that has not only changed my life but has also allowed me to provide stability for my children and support my family.
The accomplishment I’m most proud of isn’t just the sales or the growth—it’s building a brand that people trust. My goal is to continue inspiring others to believe that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself. What started as a dream and a simple TikTok account has become a thriving business, and I’m grateful every day that I get to do something I truly love.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is taking road trips with my mom from Lubbock to Fort Worth to visit our family. She would check me out of school early on Fridays, and we’d hit the road with fresh homemade burritos packed for the drive. It was just the two of us, windows down, talking, laughing, and enjoying the journey. Those trips weren’t about anything extravagant, they were about spending quality time together, getting away for a few days, and making memories. Looking back now, I realize those moments taught me that happiness isn’t found in expensive things. It’s found in the people you love, the little traditions you create, and the memories you make along the way. Those road trips will always hold a special place in my heart.
