Life & Work with Michelle Gagliani of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Gagliani.

Hi Michelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my wellness journey after going through a really difficult season in my life. My dad passed away in 2019, and before he passed, he was very sick. Watching someone I loved go through that changed the way I looked at health, wellness, and how important it is to take care of ourselves while we can.

Around that same time, I was also dealing with my own chronic lower back issues and lower back arthritis, which pushed me to become more mindful of how I was supporting my body. I started learning more about inflammation, nourishing foods, movement, self-care, and the small daily habits that can make a difference in how we feel.

What began as a wellness blog, The Balanced CEO, slowly grew into a space where I shared simple self-care practices, mindful routines, and approachable wellness tips. Over time, my life changed a lot, especially after becoming a mom, and my content naturally evolved with me.

Today, my work is centered around realistic wellness, anti-inflammatory living, nourishing recipes, grocery finds, and simple routines that help healthy living feel more doable. I’m based in Austin and, as a mom to a two-year-old, I’m very much in the season of finding balance in real life, not the perfect kind.

My goal is to create content that feels relatable, supportive, and encouraging for anyone who wants to feel better in their body and build a healthier lifestyle in a way that actually fits into everyday life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to grow and evolve while still figuring things out in real time. My brand has shifted over the years, and with that came a lot of moments where I had to pause, pivot, and ask myself what truly felt aligned.

I’ve also had to work through perfectionism and the fear of putting myself out there. Sharing online can feel vulnerable, especially when you’re building a personal brand and your work is connected to your own life and experiences.

Motherhood has also taught me to be more flexible. I don’t always have perfect routines, long work days, or unlimited time to create. A lot of my work happens in small pockets of time, but that has also made my approach to wellness more realistic.

The challenges have helped me let go of doing everything perfectly and focus more on showing up in a way that feels honest, helpful, and sustainable.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a wellness content creator based in Austin, and my work focuses on making healthy living feel more realistic, approachable, and doable. I create content around anti-inflammatory living, nourishing recipes, grocery finds, wellness routines, and simple habits that support everyday well-being.

I specialize in sharing wellness in a way that feels supportive instead of overwhelming. I know how easy it can be to feel like you have to do everything perfectly when it comes to health, so my goal is to make wellness feel more accessible for real life.

I’m most proud of the community I’ve built and the way my work has evolved over the years. What started as a blog has grown into a personal brand where I get to share my own journey, partner with wellness brands I genuinely align with, and hopefully encourage others to take small steps toward feeling better in their bodies.

What sets me apart is that I don’t share wellness from a place of perfection. I share it as a mom, a creator, and someone who is still learning and finding balance in everyday life. I think that honesty makes my content feel more relatable and grounded.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is my family, my health, and living in a way that feels intentional and meaningful.

After losing my dad and going through my own health struggles, I realized how important it is to take care of ourselves in the small everyday ways, not from a place of fear or perfection, but from a place of love and gratitude.

Now that I’m a mom, that matters even more to me. I want to feel present for my family, take care of my body, and also show my son that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be found in simple habits, nourishing meals, time outside, rest, and creating a life that feels supportive.

That’s also a big part of why I share what I do online. I want to help others feel encouraged to care for themselves in a way that feels realistic and doable for their real life.
