Hi Jordan and Devin , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My wife and I both started our careers in accounting, but over time we realized we wanted to build something of our own- something that would allow us to create meaningful experiences for others. That vision led us to Canyon Lake, where we purchased the property that would eventually become The Preserve at Canyon Lake.
What began as a dream quickly turned into years of planning, designing, construction, and learning. We had no background in the wedding industry, so every step of the process required us to adapt and grow as business owners. After opening our doors, our focus became creating an exceptional experience for every couple while continually improving and expanding the business.
Today, The Preserve has become one of the premier wedding venues in the Texas Hill Country, and we’re excited to be opening our second venue, The Arbor, this September. As we continue to grow, our mission remains the same: to create beautiful, thoughtfully designed spaces where couples can celebrate some of the most meaningful moments of their lives.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape who we are as a business. Building a venue from the ground up came with its own obstacles, from construction delays and financing to learning an entirely new industry. Once we opened, the challenges shifted to growing the business, building the right team, and creating systems that would allow us to consistently deliver the experience our couples expect.
Like any business, we’ve faced unexpected setbacks along the way, but we’ve always viewed them as opportunities to learn and improve. Looking back, those experiences have made us stronger and better prepared for the next chapter as we continue to grow with the opening of our second venue.

As we continue to grow, our mission remains the same: to create timeless venues where unforgettable memories are made and where every couple feels cared for from their first tour to their final dance.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I think one of the most important qualities has been perseverance. Building and growing a business comes with constant challenges, and there are always unexpected obstacles along the way. Success doesn’t come from avoiding those challenges—it comes from staying committed to your vision and continuing to move forward, even when things don’t go as planned.
I also believe having the right people around you makes all the difference. We’ve been fortunate to build a team that genuinely cares about our couples and takes pride in what they do. That shared commitment to excellence has played a huge role in our success and will continue to as we grow.
