Hi Rosie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m the host and bilingual content producer of Life 100 Podcast, an English and Spanish show featuring insightful stories, remarkable guests, and everyday tips for life. At its core, the podcast celebrates diversity and creativity, by living life to the fullest, living life at 100!
This mission is deeply personal. Growing up in Puerto Rico, I was always drawn to the richness of our voices, knowledge, and experiences, yet it was often difficult to see that diversity fully represented in mainstream media. I’m grateful my parents surrounded me with living examples of inclusion, even bringing home magazines from other countries so I could see our multiculturalism reflected in different professions, perspectives, and achievements.
Since then, my journey has taken me through several countries, each leaving its own lasting impression. I now call Austin, Texas home, after previously living in Florida, and I’ve come to deeply appreciate this city, its people, its landscape, and the opportunities it’s created for my family.
Podcasting has given me a platform I don’t take for granted, a way to amplify diverse voices and perspectives, one conversation at a time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but it has certainly been a rewarding one. Podcasting actually emerged from what many would consider a setback. A presentation I had prepared for a local conference wasn’t selected, and having invested months of work into it, I knew those ideas deserved to be heard regardless. So I began researching how to share them with the world in a way that was easily accessible, convenient, and available on demand, something highly engaging, completely free for listeners, and easy to download and share.
That research led me into the world of podcasting. I taught myself the technical side of production, from equipment to recording and editing, along with the business side, everything from setting up the venture to marketing and daily operations. Most importantly, I’ve continued developing my own voice and style in how I bring these stories forward.
In February 2020, I published the very first episode, and it’s been a beautiful journey ever since. It has led me to incredible places and opportunities, and to inspiring people whose voices and diversity I’ve had the honor of sharing with the world. I’m continuing the process of transitioning podcasting into a full-time venture, now expanding with a sister podcast, Latina in America, and I’m grateful for every step that brings me closer to that goal.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Life 100 Poscast, I focus on connecting people through conversation, stories that inform, guests who inspire, and everyday wisdom that resonates in both English and Spanish. What sets the show apart is that true bilingual format; it’s not translation, it’s giving each guest the freedom to speak in whichever language lets their story come through most naturally.
I’m proud of the reach that’s grown out of that approach. We’ve connected with listeners across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, China, Germany, and throughout North America, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The podcast was featured by Oprah Daily, Oprah Magazine’s platform, as one of the Best Spanish and Latino Podcasts for Learning, and has been nominated for the Latin Podcast Awards and Hispanic & Latinx Podcast recognitions. I’ve also had the honor of speaking at SXSW EDU as a two-time Speaker and Mentor, presenting at Podfest Conferences, and leading community workshops.
I want readers to know that Life 100 exists to celebrate and elevate voices and perspectives that are shaping our world. I’m currently working toward making this my full-time venture, and expanding the brand further with a new sister podcast, Latina in America. It’s been, and continues to be, a great journey.
What are your plans for the future?
Looking ahead, my biggest focus is fully transitioning Life 100 into a full-time venture. Since launching our sister podcast, Latina in America, in September 2022, spotlighting Latinas in STEM, entrepreneurship, the arts, and beyond, I’ve seen firsthand how much demand there is for these stories, and I want to keep growing both shows together.
Live, face-to-face connection has always been a meaningful extension of the podcast, and it’s an area I’m eager to expand, both locally here in Austin through community workshops and partnerships, and globally through stages like SXSW EDU, Podfest, and Podcast Movement. It’s an exciting time, and I’m grateful for every step that’s bringing that vision closer to reality.
