Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Marsh.
Hi Brooke, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The Eden Flower Co. began in a way we never could have imagined. Before we ever considered ourselves florists, we were simply two sisters with a love for creativity and a passion for being part of life’s most meaningful moments. Around 2019, we started designing DIY floral arrangements for our own weddings, and soon after, we found ourselves creating bouquets and floral pieces for friends and family as well.
Due to receiving so much encouragement and hearing countless compliments on our work, we began to realize there might be something more to this passion we had created. What started as a creative outlet slowly became something we truly loved and wanted to pursue. We loved the process of taking someone’s ideas and transforming them into something tangible that could help make their special moments even more memorable.
After months of preparation, prayer, and taking a leap of faith, we officially launched The Eden Flower Co. We started by handling every aspect of the business ourselves. From designing and sourcing flowers to deliveries, installations, and working directly with our clients, we poured our hearts into every detail. As the company has grown, we have been blessed to welcome additional team members who help us continue creating beautiful experiences for our clients.
Since launching, we have had the opportunity to design for countless weddings, corporate events, baby showers, and personal celebrations throughout Austin and the surrounding areas. Every event has been a reminder of why we started this journey, and we truly believe we are only getting started.
The name Eden was chosen with purpose. We believe the Garden of Eden was the first great love story, a place overflowing with the Lord’s most beautiful creation brought to life through color, fragrance, and bloom. That same beauty, joy, and intentionality is what we strive to bring into every piece we create.
As a family-owned and faith-based floral studio, our mission goes beyond creating beautiful arrangements. We believe flowers have the ability to tell stories, preserve memories, and become a meaningful part of life’s most important milestones. We take the time to truly know our clients, understand their vision, and create designs that feel personal, intentional, and uniquely theirs.
For us, it is about much more than one event. We hope to build lasting relationships with our clients and continue being a part of their stories through each season of life. We love the idea of creating their wedding flowers, then celebrating with them again through a baby shower, birthday, anniversary, or another meaningful milestone.
At The Eden Flower Co. we feel incredibly honored that our clients trust us to bring their visions to life and allow us to be a small part of the moments they will cherish forever.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not always been an easy road, but every challenge has been an opportunity to learn and grow. When we first started The Eden Flower Co., we began working with faux florals only. As we continued to grow and received more opportunities, we transitioned into designing with fresh florals, which came with an entirely new learning curve. We had to learn the ins and outs of working with perishable products, sourcing, timing, and everything that comes with creating arrangements that need to be perfect for a specific moment.
One of the biggest lessons we have learned is that, in this industry, not everything is always within your control. Flowers are often shipped in from different locations, and there have been times when shipments were delayed or the wrong flowers arrived. In those moments, we have had to think quickly, adapt, and find solutions while ensuring our clients never feel the stress behind the scenes. Our goal has always been to handle challenges with confidence, find the best possible alternatives, and deliver the vision our clients trusted us to create. Thankfully, every time we have faced one of those moments, we have seen everything come together beautifully.
Another challenge of being small business owners is knowing that our next opportunity is something we have to work for. Unlike larger, more established companies, we are constantly building our name through relationships, word of mouth, client experiences, and the quality of our work. We have learned the importance of staying connected with our clients, asking for feedback, and continuing to put ourselves out there.
At the end of the day, we believe our authenticity, attention to detail, and commitment to serving our clients well are what set us apart. We know that every client is trusting us with something incredibly meaningful, and our hope is that the care we put into each relationship and each design speaks for itself. While the journey has come with challenges, we are grateful for every lesson and every opportunity that has helped us grow.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At The Eden Flower Co., we specialize in creating intentional floral designs for life’s most meaningful moments. While weddings are a large part of what we do, we also design for corporate events, baby showers, private celebrations, and any occasion where flowers help tell a story.
What we love most about our work is the opportunity to take someone’s vision and bring it to life in a way that feels personal to them. Every client and every event is different, and we are intentional about taking the time to understand their style, their story, and what they want their guests to feel when they walk into the room. Whether it is a romantic wedding installation, a thoughtful arrangement for a celebration, or a custom floral piece, we want each design to feel meaningful and unique.
We are especially known for our attention to detail, our personalized approach, and our ability to create designs that feel elevated while still feeling authentic to the people we are designing for. We do not believe flowers should simply be a decoration. They should complement the atmosphere, enhance the experience, and become part of the memories being created.
One of the things we are most proud of is the trust our clients place in us. Being invited into some of the most important moments of someone’s life is something we never take for granted. We get to be a small part of weddings, celebrations, and milestones that families will remember for years, and that is incredibly special to us.
What sets us apart is the heart behind what we do. As a family-owned and faith-based floral studio, we truly care about the relationships we build with our clients. We want every person who works with us to feel seen, heard, and valued. From the first conversation to the final setup, our goal is to create an experience that feels just as beautiful as the flowers themselves.
At the end of the day, we are not just creating arrangements. We are creating pieces that represent love, celebration, and the moments people will cherish forever. Flowers are our language, and we feel honored every time someone trusts us to help tell their story.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
We have learned that some of the greatest opportunities come from being willing to step outside of what feels comfortable. One of the biggest risks we took with The Eden Flower Co. was transitioning from faux florals into fresh floral design. When we first started, we felt confident in the faux floral space, but we knew that expanding into fresh florals would allow us to better serve our clients and continue growing.
There was definitely a learning curve, but we believe the higher the risk, the greater the opportunity for growth. If we had stayed in a comfortable place and avoided that challenge, we would have missed out on so many of the incredible clients and opportunities we have today. Now, the majority of our work is centered around fresh florals, and we are so grateful we took that leap.
For us, taking risks is about being willing to learn, adapt, and trust the process. Growth usually happens when you are willing to step outside of what you already know.
