Check Out Andrew Verdugo’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Verdugo.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It started off as a idea to keep working together after Logan and I met at Nixtia Taqueria back in 2021-2022. We became friends through our services together, and slowly we dreamt of having a business where we can express our ideas similar to how Edgar and Sara raised Nixtia to what it is today.

One day we are given a chance to cater a last minute event from a old colleague of ours, and with enough grit we were able to make the event happen despite the circumstances. We then realized from there that our dream of ours can become a reality. So we began doing pop ups, and investing into initial steps to opening as a small business.

We have gotten to see how our initial understanding of our place began to change as we met members of our community similar to ourselves. Our purpose for this concept began to deepen to our local community, and the people we have gotten to connect to along the way.

We saw how using our business to promote others and make our interpretation of Tejano food has given us the joy and pride to be serving in East Austin, and are excited to become a more contributing member to the local community for hospitality and culture for the years to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The obstacles along the way have been beyond stressful, but for every obstacle we thank the lesson it provides to us.

We believe in the idea of ” No Pasa Nada” for it helps us understand the best out of a bad day, and provide us the stability that our past experiences have taught us to be ready for the challenges ahead.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Logan and I are providing a concept interpretation of Southern Tejano Cuisine. We focus on BBQ and the techniques from our respective kitchen studies and culture. Andrew is from El Paso, and is providing his taste in Tejano cuisine, while Logan showcases his flavor from Smithville.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
