Today we’d like to introduce you to Celeste Vee.
Celeste, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been a musician for as long as I can remember. I started violin lessons at four years old through the Suzuki method, and by the time I was twelve, I was already performing professionally. Music eventually took me from studying voice and theater at SMU to training and performing in New York City, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of playing thousands of weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations.
What I discovered along the way was that I loved more than just performing. I loved creating unforgettable experiences. I found myself helping clients choose the perfect musical moments, collaborating with planners and DJs, and mentoring other musicians. That passion eventually led me to found VEE Entertainment.
Today, VEE Entertainment is a nationwide entertainment agency specializing in world-class violinists and live performers for weddings and events. We’ve built an incredible network of talented artists across the country, allowing us to serve clients from intimate celebrations to large multicultural weddings and luxury corporate events. One of the things I’m most proud of is our reputation for understanding not just the music, but the flow, traditions, and cultural significance behind each event.
Looking back, it’s amazing to see how a little girl with a violin grew into a business owner leading a team of extraordinary performers. My mission has stayed the same through every chapter: to help people celebrate life’s biggest moments through live music while creating opportunities for talented musicians to do what they love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Is there such a thing as a smooth road in entrepreneurship? Haha! I’ve never heard of one, and I’m no exception. It’s been especially tricky figuring out how to create a scalable and sustainable version of what is usually a very solo endeavor. It’s one thing to speak on my own behalf and book myself for gigs. It’s an entirely different animal to build systems that are duplicatable while maintaining a high touch personal experience for the client. Because most of our clients (so far) are brides and grooms, they might choose to trust an agency who’s done this before a few thousand times, but they still need it to feel like their day is the most important of them all. That’s a very tight rope to walk and I’ve certainly wobbled a few times trying to find the right balance. I also have to take care of my musicians and look out for their best interests — so managing client expectations is another hurdle that has to be carefully navigated.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I always joke that I accidentally became a South Asian wedding specialist.
I spent years performing at weddings and events of every kind, but in 2019 I was hired for my first Indian wedding. I absolutely fell in love with it. The music, the energy, the traditions, the multiple days of celebration… it was unlike anything I’d experienced before. One wedding led to another, then another, and before I knew it, almost all of my work was coming through referrals. A planner would recommend me to another planner. A DJ would tell a couple about me. A bride would tell her cousin. It just kept growing organically.
Today, South Asian weddings are one of my biggest specialties, as an individual performer and as a company. We’ve had the privilege of performing at hundreds of them, and I love that no two celebrations are ever exactly alike. Every family has its own traditions, every couple has a unique vision, and every entrance, ceremony, and reception has its own personality. I especially enjoy collaborating with DJs and planners to make sure the music flows seamlessly throughout the day.
As the demand grew, I realized there was no way I could personally be everywhere at once, so I started building VEE Entertainment. Now I work with an incredible network of violinists across the country who share my passion for creating unforgettable experiences. Even though I still perform myself, one of my favorite parts of my job is matching the right musician to the right event and helping clients bring their vision to life.
I think what sets me apart is that I genuinely love learning about the cultures and traditions behind the events I perform. I’m not just showing up to play songs. I want to understand why a particular moment matters, what emotions the family wants to create, and how live music can elevate that experience. After so many South Asian weddings, I’ve learned that when you understand the flow of the celebration, you can anticipate moments instead of simply reacting to them.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve earned. Nearly all of my South Asian business has grown through word of mouth, and that’s something I never take for granted. Every recommendation represents someone saying, “You have to call Celeste,” and that’s the highest compliment I could ask for.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I absolutely love the South Asian wedding community that I’ve become a part of, and I hope I’ll be a part of those celebrations for many years to come. But I’m also always looking for more opportunities for my talented musicians to perform. There are only so many Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in a month, and weddings naturally compete for those same dates.
That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited about the growth of the corporate event industry. Companies are investing more than ever in creating memorable experiences for their employees and clients, and live music has become a big part of that. Whether it’s a product launch, an awards gala, a conference, or a holiday party, businesses are realizing that entertainment isn’t just background noise. It shapes the entire atmosphere.
I also think clients across the board are looking for more than just hiring a musician. They want someone who understands the flow of an event, can work seamlessly with planners and DJs, and can create moments that guests actually remember. That’s where I see the industry continuing to evolve. The expectation isn’t just great talent anymore. It’s professionalism, collaboration, and creating an experience.
For me, the next five to ten years are about creating more opportunities for musicians to do meaningful work. I want VEE Entertainment to continue growing into new markets, new event types, and larger productions while keeping the personal service and attention to detail that helped us grow in the first place.
