Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique D’Vita.
Hi Dominique, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I spent over 35 years as a Registered Nurse before Tantra ever entered the picture. Cardiac care, the cath lab, open heart and neurosurgery as a first assistant. I have literally seen the human experience from the inside out, and for most of my career, that’s just what I thought “opening hearts” meant.
Then in my mid-40s, everything cracked open. I was with a man who had mastered being a Tantric lover. He knew how to last for hours, how to stay present, how to stay connected with me mentally, physically, and emotionally the whole time. For the first time in my life, I understood what pleasure could actually be. Not technique. Not performance. Presence. That night I had my first Soulgasm, a full-body, soul-level orgasm I didn’t even know was possible.
The second night, it happened again. I remember sitting up in bed, looking at him, and saying, “I want to clone you and give one of you to all my friends.” I’d been sharing sex tips with my friends for years, even on Playboy Radio, but I had never known how to guide anyone to an experience like that. He knew how to be an incredible lover, but even he hadn’t done the deeper inner work. I wanted to understand what made that experience possible, so I could teach it.
It also stirred something like compassion in me. I thought about how many women go their whole lives without ever knowing pleasure at that level exists. That became part of my why: helping other men and women experience this for themselves, so they could have more satisfying relationships and know that pleasure is medicine, not indulgence.
So I started studying Tantra and got certified. That was only the beginning. I went on to become a trauma-informed Master Coach as well, because teaching people what’s possible in the bedroom only goes so far if they’re still carrying trauma, old patterns, and a nervous system stuck in protection mode. Tantra is also about self-love and coming home to your own body, and that deeper work is what led me into inner child healing, trauma healing, and emotional release, so I could help my clients on every level, not just the physical one.
From the start, I taught both men and women, together and separately: how to slow down, stay present, and build real intimacy instead of chasing performance, how to open up to more pleasure than they thought their bodies could hold, and how to identify the blocks that have been limiting their intimacy in relationships and in the bedroom.
Today I coach men, women, and couples all over the world by Zoom, still based in Austin, doing that same work: healing the patterns that keep people from real intimacy.
I like to say I went from saving lives to saving sex lives. Same hands, same heart, just a different kind of operating room.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been smooth. I’ve experienced struggles.
The first was credibility. I spent over 35 years as a nurse, a profession people respect and rarely question. When I started talking publicly about sex, pleasure, and Tantra, I had to build that same level of trust and expertise all over again, in a field most people don’t take as seriously, even though it changes lives just as much as anything I did in a hospital.
The second is social media itself. Sex-positive education is not something platforms are warm to. I get shadow-banned, I get content pulled, and I have to speak in code half the time just to say something as simple and healthy as “pleasure matters.” There is so much I want to share and so much I have to find creative ways around. It has been a real obstacle, but I believe in this work too much to stop finding ways to say it.
The third is specific to the men I work with. Men are conditioned from a young age with locker-room talk: boast that you’re the best, even when you’re not. So even when a man does real work with me and has a genuine breakthrough in his stamina, his presence, his confidence in bed, he rarely tells another man about it. Admitting he needed help would break the performance. That conditioning is exactly what I coach men out of, but it also means the work I do with men stays one of the best kept secrets out there, even though it may be some of the most life-changing work I do.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My brand is Yes Tantra. That’s where people usually find me first. My LLC, MBS Industries, which stands for Mind Body Soul, has actually been the umbrella since day one. Yes Tantra is the doorway into the work, and everything underneath it, the self-love, the nervous system regulation, the trauma-informed coaching, lives under that same umbrella. It’s all one body of work. I just meet people at different entry points depending on what they need first.
What I do is help men, women, and couples heal the patterns that keep them from real intimacy, both in the bedroom and outside of it. That might look like nervous system regulation, inner child healing, releasing stored trauma, or the more Tantric side of my work: pleasure, presence, and reconnecting to the body. All of it comes from the same place: you cannot fix a relationship or a sex life by memorizing a script or a technique. You have to heal what’s underneath it.
What sets me apart is the combination. I spent over 35 years as a Registered Nurse in cardiac surgical care, as well as critical care and the ICU, so I bring a level of clinical expertise and respect for the body that most coaches in this space don’t have. I pair that with Tantra training and trauma-informed coaching certification, so I can meet a client in their body, their nervous system, and their spirit at the same time.
I’ve also started offering functional genomics testing for my clients, because optimizing your health matters just as much as the inner work. Your body is the instrument you experience pleasure through. If that instrument isn’t tuned and nourished, all the presence and inner work in the world will only get you so far. So now I help clients understand their own biology at that level too.
What I’m proudest of, brand-wise, is that I’ve built something that lets people who would never say the word “Tantra” out loud still get the deeper work. My Intimacy Reset Method starts with something as simple as a pattern you keep repeating in relationships, and it opens a door most people didn’t know was there.
If there’s one thing I want your readers to take away, it’s this: pleasure is medicine, not indulgence. Whether someone comes to me for stamina, confidence, connection, or simply wanting to feel more like themselves again, the real work is always the same. Heal the pattern, come home to your body, and the rest follows.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think the biggest shift in my industry over the next five to ten years is going to be a swing back toward people, not away from them.
There is so much content now, so much of it AI-generated, that information itself is becoming almost worthless. Anyone can Google a technique or ask a chatbot how to be better in bed. What people cannot get from a screen is lived experience, real wisdom, and someone who has actually walked through decades of life, relationships, and their own healing. I think people are going to crave that more, not less. They are going to want to learn from real humans who have lived it, not just studied it or generated it.
I also think we are heading toward more in-person experiences and real community, not less. We have spent so many years connecting through screens that I think people are starting to feel the cost of that: missing real touch, real presence, real eye contact. Intimacy work especially cannot happen fully through a screen. I think retreats, live events, and in-person container work are going to become more valuable, not less, even as more of the world moves online.
I hope my field becomes less taboo, but I don’t think it’s there yet, especially with the current political climate becoming more restrictive around sex-positive content. Right now, I still get shadow-banned regularly, and there’s still real resistance to this conversation, especially for women. Women talking openly about being sex positive tend to get more pushback than men having the exact same conversation.
