Meet Matthew Iommi of Fetii

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Iommi.

Hi Matthew, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always been interested in building businesses and figuring out how to solve problems. Fetii came out of seeing how difficult group transportation could be. If you had a larger group, there really wasn’t a great, easy option..you were usually dealing with multiple cars, complicated logistics, or traditional charter services that weren’t very flexible.

We started Fetii with the idea of making group transportation much simpler. The goal was pretty straightforward: you should be able to open an app, request a vehicle that fits your group, and get where you need to go without all the hassle.

From there, it’s really been a matter of figuring things out as we go. We’ve grown the business, expanded into new markets, built out our technology and team, and learned a lot of lessons along the way. There have definitely been some difficult moments, but that’s also what makes building a company exciting.

I’m proud of how far we’ve taken Fetii, but I still feel like we’re in the early stages. There’s a huge opportunity to improve the way people move around in groups, and that’s what keeps me excited about the business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. Building Fetii has been a lot of trial and error. There were plenty of times when we had to make decisions without really knowing if they were going to work, and then adjust quickly when they didn’t.

We’ve also had to learn how to grow without getting ahead of ourselves. Every time you enter a new market, you’re essentially starting over in a lot of ways. You have to build the supply, understand the local market, find the right people, and earn customers’ trust.

There have been a lot of stressful moments, but honestly, those are probably where I’ve learned the most. You figure out what matters, what doesn’t, and how to keep moving when things don’t go the way you expected. That’s been a big part of the journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Fetii is a technology platform for group transportation. We partner with third-party transportation operators and give them the technology, tools, and demand to serve groups in a way they really haven’t been able to before.

Historically, group transportation has been pretty fragmented. Operators might have great vehicles and drivers, but they often don’t have the technology or customer acquisition infrastructure to efficiently fill those vehicles and manage trips at scale. On the other side, customers have had a hard time finding and booking reliable transportation for larger groups.

We’re trying to connect those two sides. Fetii gives operators a technology platform that helps them manage and service group trips, while giving customers a much easier way to find and book transportation for their group.

What I’m most proud of is that we’ve built a model where we can work with the transportation industry rather than trying to replace it. There are a lot of great operators out there who know their markets and know how to run transportation businesses. We give them better technology and access to demand, and together we can create a much better experience for the customer.

Ultimately, I want people to think of Fetii as the technology layer that makes group transportation work better. We’re taking an industry that has traditionally been very fragmented and bringing a modern, technology-driven experience to it without losing the local expertise and operators that make the industry work.

What’s next?
Our biggest goal is to keep expanding Fetii and make the experience available to groups in every major city. We’ve proven the model, and now it’s about continuing to build the network of transportation operators and bringing the Fetii experience to more and more people.

Long term, I think the opportunity is much bigger than just the U.S. There are groups everywhere that need better ways to get around, and transportation operators everywhere that could benefit from better technology and access to demand. So the vision is to eventually take Fetii around the world.

There’s still a lot of work to do before we get there, but that’s what makes it exciting. Right now, we’re focused on executing really well, expanding into the right markets, and building a platform that can scale globally.
