T’s Hot Pot LLC began as a small dream in 2018 when I was 20 years old, serving active duty in the Army and living in Killeen, TX. What started as a hobby—making holiday cakes for the DFAC on Fort Hood—quickly grew into a side business. Assigned to the baking team, I discovered my passion for baking and cake decorating. With no formal training, I taught myself through online tutorials, turning my tiny apartment into a creative studio where I honed my skills in edible art.
Over the past eight years, T’s Hot Pot LLC has grown as a one-person operation that not only serves clients but also inspires those around me. My journey—balancing military service, personal growth, and entrepreneurship—has taught me resilience, discipline, and the power of turning passion into purpose. Today, my talent and skills allow me to contribute meaningfully to my community and beyond.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a young black woman in business, the journey hasn’t always been smooth. I’ve faced discouragement, doubt, and moments of uncertainty about the future of T’s Hot Pot LLC. There were times I questioned whether my skills were ‘enough’ or if the effort was worth it. In those moments, I came close to giving up.
But I’m so grateful for the incredible support I’ve received from my family, friends, and community. Their encouragement reminded me of my purpose and kept me going. Today, I’m proud to say that T’s Hot Pot LLC is a testament to perseverance, passion, and the power of believing in yourself, even when the road is tough.

What I want everyone to know about T’s Hot Pot LLC is that it started as a small dream, one I didn’t even dare to name as a business at first. I simply loved baking and decorating cakes, and that love became the foundation for something much bigger. Once you find that vision or dream, the key is to hold onto it and keep pushing forward. No one else can see the full potential of your dream like you can.
For over nine years, I maintained T’s Hot Pot LLC while serving active duty in the Army. Today, I’m proud to be a veteran full-time business owner, where my passion for baking has grown into a thriving, creative enterprise. As the sole owner and operator, I specialize in custom cakes, wedding cakes, customized sugar cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, and more. What sets my work apart is my commitment to artistic freedom, reliable communication, and flawless attention to visual detail. Every client is treated with dignity, respect, and a dedication to creating edible art that exceeds expectations.
The proudest achievement of T’s Hot Pot LLC is building a brand centered on giving customers a bang for their buck. I prioritize keeping clients informed at every step, paying attention to the smallest details, and delivering exceptional customer service. My goal is to create not just desserts, but experiences that leave a lasting impression—so much so that clients return time and time again. At the end of the day, I take pride in knowing that my edible art brings joy, celebration, and a touch of magic to every occasion.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice for networking is simple: Be yourself and put yourself out there. No matter where you are, continue representing your brand and what you believe in. I’ve been fortunate to be in rooms that have transformed my business in ways I never imagined. All because I vocalized what T’s Hot Pot LLC stands for.
I don’t often refer to my business as ‘small’ because, in my mind, there’s nothing small about it. Believing in yourself is the first step to showing up daily for your brand, and that belief is what turns dreams into reality.
