Check Out Angie Fuentes’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Fuentes.

Hi Angie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Angie Fuentes. I’m from Austin, Texas and I began making jewelry in my home in 2019 as a way to create beautiful, affordable pieces that I could wear myself. I am self-taught and love working with my hands. I’ve always had a passion for art and creating, and I loved being able to learn new things and take simple materials like gemstones, pearls, and wire and turn them into something I could wear forever.

What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into PLETHORA. I loved creating a piece and then building from that creation to see what it would evolve into. One idea would inspire another, and I found myself constantly experimenting with new designs and materials.

Many people also ask me where I got my logo. It actually began as I was making a wire shell shaped earring, and what started as a simple design turned into a masterpiece. I loved it so much that I made that creation into the signature of my brand. Some say it’s a shell, some say it’s a flame. But it can be all things to all people.

The name PLETHORA represents abundance, variety, and endless possibilities, which perfectly reflects how I approach my creativity. I never know exactly what I’ll create next, but I love the process of taking an idea, bringing it to life, and building upon it.

What began with me wanting beautiful, affordable jewelry for myself has grown into a brand that allows me to share my creativity with others. And every time someone wears a piece I created, it reminds me not only of why I started, but of what can happen when you have faith in what God has placed in your hands and trust Him enough to multiply it—even when you can’t see all the details of what’s ahead.

I’m excited about how far PLETHORA has come since 2019, but even more about where it’s going. My passion is to continue creating, growing, and expanding my designs. PLETHORA is a reflection of creativity, self-expression and the joy I find in turning an idea into something beautiful that others can enjoy. I look forward to all the treasure trails and paths that Plethora will step into.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been times where I’ve had to create balance and rest to prevent burnout. I believe that resting gives you what you need for the Journey to birth new ideas and find new strength to continue for the next season. One of the biggest struggles has been wanting to start too many things at once and learning how to focus on what I’ve started and live and enjoy what’s in front of me. They were always be room for more in the future.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am most known for and specialize in my gemstone jewelry designs but also for painting. My paintings are mostly inspired by my faith in Jesus. I also offer jewelry making classes and group painting sessions. I am most proud of the joy of experiencing women come together and bond over beautiful jewelry pieces or their love for creating their own art.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
It’s definitely a risk to be vulnerable and put your thoughts to life for others to see. It’s an investment of time labor and finances. For me risk equals faith in action. Even when you don’t have the full blueprint and details of what’s to come. When you take risks you are stewarding what has been entrusted to you and breathing life into it. It’s hard to take risks just like when you plant a seed and keep watering it you don’t see it rise above ground until you keep pouring life into it. And that is what I have done with Plethora. Take the risk and keep watering your ideas! It will rise above ground and bloom!
