Today we’d like to introduce you to Anil Kashyap.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Today, I am a board certified plastic surgeon who has opened a concierge practice focusing on aesthetic surgical treatments for patients to make them feel as beautiful on the outside as they do on the inside. This was not how my story began.
I originally was a bright eyed and bushy tailed fresh university graduate who was very excited to explore all things in the research world. Immunology captured my interest, working on vaccine development for chronic middle ear infections in children. While intriguing, I could not see a future in this line of work, and so changed my focus to dentistry. Staying at the top of my class I then was selected into the ultra competitive 6 year Oral and maxillofacial reconstructive surgery program at the University of Maryland where I also earned my medical degree. My rigorous training was focused on head and neck reconstruction ranging from various cancers to gunshot and trauma injuries. Training at Shock Trauma was an intense experience where the team was involved in the removal of the cancer, and all aspects of reconstructive options including free tissue transfer. My journey then continued with further training in general surgery, and then to plastic and reconstructive surgery. I wanted to take care of the complex reconstructive patients in their entirety, be with them through the entire process, not just as a small segment of their recovery. This is why i chose to focus so extensively on the reconstructive aspect of plastic surgery.
Being part of the care team further reinforced my interest in breast cancer patients, and so i continued with fellowship training at Johns Hopkins. Here i became a specialist in microsurgery and free tissue transfer. This involved taking tissue from one part of the body and transferring it to the surgical defect site. These transfers were needed for providing coverage and reconstruction for defects caused by trauma, cancer removal, or even a congenital defect. The free tissue was harvested with the arteries and veins from the donor site and them connected to the recipient site vessels- fancy biological plumbing where the “pipes” were at most 2-3 mm in diameter.
Life then steered my career toward Oklahoma University where i was an assistant professor, raising several generations of plastic surgeons. I worked with medical students and focused on breast cancer reconstruction, while also restarting the head and neck reconstruction program at the Oklahoma City VA. I got to work with this country’s veteran heroes, and help them with their varied medical issues.
Then after having the disheartening realization that the hospital system did not support surgeons in their quest for the best care for patients, i left the academic world to pursue a career in cosmetic surgery. For 4.5 years I performed countless aesthetic procedures, with my last 12 months having a total of 960 cases. It was a tremendous opportunity to constantly grow, learn, improve and become a surgeon constantly looking for better patient satisfaction and outcomes. I had the lowest complication rate in the company that had at one point more than 19 surgeons nation-wide. It also gave me the opportunity to realize what i liked and didn’t like about the aesthetic surgery model. It was during this time that i embraced the idea that I wanted to open a practice of my own that provided very personalized care. I realized that time was the greatest gift that I can offer a patient, in addition to the obvious care and good outcomes. Patients are vulnerable and want to have a relationship with their surgeon. That is what created Reve plastic surgery.
Together with my incredible wife and partner, we began the journey to create a boutique practice that offers a concierge experience, where all details are taken care of, and where a patient can feel seen, and heard. Today, we have a practice where we listen, we care and focus on privacy and emotional support for anyone who is seeking to enrich their lives with any form of aesthetic treatment.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My path to Reve has been a very challenging but fulfilling one. I did two doctorates, and two separate residencies. My first residency in Maxillofacial Surgery was not governed by the ACGME rules protecting residents, so i was in the hospital for 120 hour per week. This was both difficult and rewarding all at the same time. It was difficult to function under such extreme levels of stress, fatigue, and still be able to provide surgical expertise. It was a time of learning in the environment where old school surgeons would throw instruments across a room or kick metal storage doors while scrubbed in. It was intense but an amazing experience.
Additionally, while in my maxillofacial surgery residency, i made the decision to pursue further training in plastic surgery. In the surgical world, the three specialties: maxillofacial surgery, ENT and plastic surgery all competed very heavily to be the ultimate specialists in reconstruction. Making such a decision to move on and join the “enemy” was very difficult – to make in-roads in another specialty while still being in another.
Plastic surgery was another residency and being another three years after the initial seven, fatigue from such intense training was very real. I was passionate about what I was doing, loved the diverse problems and the even more unique solutions. For me, continued training was an opportunity to get more perspective, learn where the limits of reconstruction lay, and how to push them further. Everything was about learning innovative techniques to solve complex surgical problems.
One of the significant hurdles was being a Canadian citizen. I had various visas, the last one being a surprise change from a TN visa to a J1 visa- a very suboptimal situation that required working in an under-served population for three years. This is why i had to go to Oklahoma University after training at Johns Hopkins. Under ordinary circumstances, such training would have opened doors nationally to any institution. However, since I needed a J1 waiver, I had to go to places that supported this. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience, and I have been made much better for it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

My patients have a 2-hour consultation with me. this is an opportunity to explore all issues, treatment options; a time to form a real and meaningful relationship. There are no surprises- everything is intentional. Together, my patients and I address all of their issues, questions, hopes, goals, and create a realistic treatment plan that will provide an outcome that they will like. Surgeon led means that I am involved in all aspects of the patient’s journey, from planning, to pre-op, to surgery, to post-op visits. The patient has total access to the surgeon throughout the journey. There is no nursing hotline, they have direct 24 hour communication with me.
My goal is to provide an unparalleled experience. At Reve we are intentionally low volume so that I can provide total commitment to my patients.
The space is designed to be a relaxing spa like experience. Our goal is to maximize privacy and personalized service. We have our surgical suite on site, and a private exit for patients after surgery. Everything is designed for the experience to be singular, and special.
Surgical options include facial rejuvenation: facelifts, rhinoplasty, browlift, blepharoplasty, neck lift, lip lift, nano-fat transfer. Having worked in places where high volume was all that mattered, I wanted to create a surgical experience for each patient where they received time to feel special and to be understood.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The best luck I ever had was meeting my wife. She has been the rock who has carried us on this journey. She is the COO of Reve and brings a discerning eye. She designed the aesthetic appearance of the clinic. She has an incredible eye for detail. Additionally, she has been a strategic giant in creating policy, running the practice in all things forward facing. She has been the reason why Reve looks as wonderful as it does.
Bad luck has been the amount of time it took for the contractors to finish the project. We were originally supposed to be open in October, however we opened May `19, 2026. Opening our doors at the start of slow season for the aesthetic industry is a challenge, however it has given us time to fine tune our operation so we can offer the most personalized patient experience.
Other good luck has been all of our staff is amazing. We have had the good fortune to be blessed with a very cohesive team who is truly our family. We have an incredible front desk staff duo who bring professionalism and warmth to the check in and care aspect. We have a super detail-oriented compliance officer who is amazing. Our aesthetics nurse is incredibly well educated in all things injectable and lasers, skin treatments etc. Our nurse is kind, caring and driven. In summary, the team is a blessing.

Dripping Springs is a beautiful gem of a city that has a collage of people, everyone willing to help and to be a wonderful neighbor.
