Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Pamslivelovefashion.
Pam, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey with fashion really began while I was at home raising my children. After giving birth, I wanted to stay connected to my background in marketing (I worked in marketing for 8 years before having kids) while also making space for something I had always loved — fashion. Friends were constantly asking to borrow my clothes, and even strangers would stop me to ask where I had found something I was wearing. It made me realize there was an opportunity to combine my love of fashion with my marketing experience. And perhaps help and advise people along the way.
What started as a way to stay creative and connected while being at home with my children gradually grew into what is now Pam’s Live Love Fashion. Over time, it has evolved beyond just my personal love of clothes into a community and a way for me to connect with other women through fashion, confidence and creativity. I worked with some big brands and co hosting and styling a fashion segment at a major mall in Ireland.
That lead to working as a personal stylist to help other women feel confident in themselves.
When I later moved to Austin because of my husband’s work, I discovered that fashion here was quite different from what I had been used to in Europe. The Texas heat in particular completely changes the way you dress! It was a fun challenge to adapt my European style to the Austin climate while discovering the local fashion scene.
Back home, I had collaborated with brands and was particularly passionate about supporting Irish boutiques and Irish-owned businesses. I still love supporting them from afar, but moving to Austin also opened up a whole new world of local businesses for me to discover and support.
I’ve become especially passionate about consignment shopping since moving to the U.S. I find the consignment stores here are so much better than what I was used to in Ireland, and I love finding unique pieces in local stores. I also enjoy discovering and supporting Texas-owned boutiques.
What started as a way to stay connected to my marketing background while raising my children has grown into Pam’s Live Love Fashion — a way for me to combine my love of fashion, discovering great pieces and brands, and most importantly, connecting with and supporting local businesses and the wider community. Now I enjoy and have started to begin more styling sessions, as the kids are no longer babies and are more self sufficient as they are in their teenage years.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been building something while raising a family and moving countries, and then finding my place in a completely new market and community.
Moving from Ireland to Austin meant starting over in many ways. I had to learn a new fashion market, understand what works in the Texas climate, and build new relationships and connections from scratch. At the same time, I wanted to stay connected to the Irish businesses and brands I had supported back home.
Interestingly, moving abroad also made me realize that people were interested in much more than just what I was wearing. They were curious about the lifestyle, what it was like to move from Ireland to Texas, the differences between the two cultures and what everyday life was really like living abroad. That naturally became another part of what I shared.
So over time, Pam’s Live Love Fashion evolved from being primarily about fashion into more of a lifestyle and community platform — sharing fashion, local businesses, places I discover, life in Austin and my experience of living between two cultures.
There have definitely been challenges along the way, particularly putting yourself out there and building something from scratch in a new country. But those challenges have also pushed me to be more creative, adaptable and confident. I’ve learned that you don’t necessarily have to have everything figured out at the beginning — sometimes you just have to keep showing up, stay true to what you love and see where it takes you.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What I do has naturally evolved into a combination of fashion, lifestyle and travel. Fashion is still at the heart of what I do, but living in Austin and experiencing life between Ireland and the U.S. has broadened my perspective and given me so much more to share.
I love discovering fashion — from local Texas-owned boutiques and consignment stores to Irish brands and independent businesses back home. But I also love sharing the lifestyle that goes along with it: places I discover, travel, restaurants, experiences and what it is really like living abroad and adapting to a new culture.
I think that combination is what sets me apart. I’m not just showing an outfit; I’m sharing the story and lifestyle around it. My content can take you from a local boutique in Austin, to a beautiful destination, to an Irish business I still love supporting from afar. But more importantly supporting Texans and Austinites..
What I’m most proud of is the community I’ve built around that. I’ve been able to connect people with businesses, brands and places they may not otherwise have discovered, while also sharing my own experience of moving countries and creating a new life.
For me, Pam’s Live Love Fashion is about inspiring people to live, love, explore and, of course, fashion — while supporting local and independent businesses along the way.
Because of this it has opened opportunities for me and I’m a board member of the Irish business network Austin, which allows me to build and connect with more Irish moving to Austin and creating a community within the city.
I’ve started working locally styling people around my community.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
My favorite book is Atomic Habits because it resonates with my experience of moving abroad and adapting to a new lifestyle. Relocating taught me that the little things—how you dress, the routines you create, the people you surround yourself with and the way you experience your new environment—can completely shape how you feel and how you see yourself. It’s also influenced the way I approach fashion and lifestyle: small changes can create a whole new sense of confidence and identity.
