Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Love.
Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started the first iteration of my design firm, Love Designs, after graduating from college with a degree in interior design. What began as a small, independent practice has evolved over the past 22 years into what is now Urbane Design, a full service design firm specializing in full home remodels and new construction.
Over time, I have developed a design approach rooted in creating spaces that feel both refined and livable. These are homes that are not only visually compelling but deeply functional for the people who inhabit them.
More recently, my work has expanded into hospitality through Stardust Ranch, an immersive ranch retreat for overnight stays and creative events. It also functions as a living showroom for the design community, where we showcase products from over 22 manufacturers and create a space that connects designers and brands in a more experiential way.
At its core, all design is experienced and shared, and at Stardust Ranch that idea is brought to life more intentionally through connection, collaboration, and discovery.
Today, Urbane Design continues to evolve at the intersection of residential and hospitality design, grounded in decades of experience while exploring how people live, gather, and experience space in new ways.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Like any long-standing business, there have been learning curves, mistakes, and moments of failure along the way. The 2008 recession was a particularly challenging time, but it forced me to adapt, refine my approach, and build a more resilient foundation. In many ways, those challenges shaped the business into what it is today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Urbane Design, we focus on full home remodels, new home construction, and furnishing the homes we design so that every project feels complete and cohesive from start to finish.
What we’re most proud of is the level of repeat clientele we’ve built over the years. That continued trust is a direct reflection of the relationships we form and the consistency of our work.
What sets us apart is our connection to the people we work with. We prioritize listening and understanding how our clients truly live, then guiding them through the design and build process in a way that feels seamless and intentional. Our goal is always to deliver spaces that not only look beautiful but genuinely support and reflect our clients’ lifestyles.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is creating spaces that people connect to in a real way. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing a finished home come to life and knowing it supports how someone lives day to day. I also really value the relationships built along the way—those are just as meaningful as the work itself.
