Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Boudreaux.
Hi Christina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been in some type of marketing role for nearly fifteen years now.
For the most recent five, I worked for alcohol brands as an event and brand manager.
This is where I discovered that my truest passions are community and finding ways to bring that community together.
Now I am well into the process of starting my own marketing business and have recently begun building a client base as a travel and hospitality marketer.
The baby steps in the beginning felt a bit grueling, a bit like trudging through mud. Was I really getting anywhere? It was hard to tell in the beginning. But I kept on trudging, and the past couple of months have surprised me in the best way. Things are starting to come together. My hard work is starting to show. I am building something of my very own. And I wake up excited every day.
It’s still early days, but that doesn’t feel daunting to me anymore. It feels like I’ve started living my dream life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest roadblock for me has been not always betting on myself like I should have.
For years, I helped manage a business from both the marketing and sales side. I hired and built a team across Texas. My employees respected me, my bosses adored me and I loved my job. I was good at it, and I knew that. Why then, did I have such a hard time believing I could branch out on my own?
It was something that I had thought about for a while, the smallest voice in the back of my head. But I never made any serious strides in that direction. The very idea sounded daunting to me.
But when the business was sold in 2025, the brand that I had once loved so much suddenly felt like a brand that I no longer recognized.
I knew when I left that it was now or never.
I gave myself six months to figure it out.
Right now, it’s exactly six months later. I’m sitting in a beach side hotel room after watching a beautiful sunset and typing this with a big grin on my face. I’m just getting started. But I’m doing it. I’m building something of my very own. I’m getting paid to go places. I’m finally betting on myself, on my own brand. And I’m making some damn dreams come true, y’all.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Christina Goes Places ?
I am a hospitality-focused marketer.
I’ve worked in this industry in one way or another since I was eighteen years old.
I’m not an influencer, and I have no desire to become one. Those working in the hospitality and service industry are some of the most incredible and hardworking individuals I’ve ever met. I’ve unfortunately seen time and again how this isn’t always recognized or respected within, amongst other spheres, the influencer one.
Seeing people, especially younger people, start to push back against various forms of toxicity and inauthenticity in our culture has given me a lot of hope lately.
And it makes me feel like I’m starting this journey of mine at exactly the right time.
While I do help create content for brands, I don’t consider myself solely or even mainly a content creator.
I am someone who has lived and breathed the restaurant life from both the server and the marketing management side. I’m an event manager who has hired and managed a team of brand ambassadors across Texas. I am a travel-focused creator who has a passion for going places and helping others discover hidden gems both near and far. I focused on marketing in undergrad but decided it seemed logical to pair that with my Master’s in Business. I love that all of this together has given me a well-rounded approach to building a marketing business and the opportunity to help paint a full picture of what brands need to succeed.
I know and understand this space from the inside out, and now I get the chance to build something special inside of it.
My goal is to work with brands and businesses that truly inspire me, and to work with them on a budget and scope that is feasible for them. I want to be accessible to my local community and beyond, and I want to do whatever I can to help the industry and the people that I care so deeply about.
What matters most to you? Why?
Community, sincerity and in-person connection.
And always having the openness to go new places and meet new faces.
Because people matter to me, and these are the things that help bring us together.
