Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Cantu.
Hi ashley, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey has been a mix of creativity, entrepreneurship, and constantly evolving into the person I’m meant to be. I started my career in the beauty and entertainment space, working as a licensed cosmetologist, model, dancer, brand ambassador, and event professional. Those experiences naturally led me into social media, content creation, and marketing.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands, create content, support events, manage creator programs, and build my own business around the skills I’ve developed. Being in so many different areas of the industry taught me how to not only be creative, but also understand the business and strategy behind creating something that connects with people.
A big part of my journey has also been personal growth. I’ve had to learn how to break patterns, become more intentional with my choices, and build a life that actually reflects who I am and where I want to go. That growth has influenced the work I want to do today helping other people become more confident, break through limiting patterns, and create healthier, more aligned lives.
Today, I’m continuing to grow as a creative entrepreneur, content creator, and strategist while building businesses and projects that combine my passions for marketing, community, personal development, and storytelling. I’m still evolving, but I’m proud of how every chapter has prepared me for the next one.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been a lot of seasons where I’ve had to figure things out as I went, especially while building a career that doesn’t follow a traditional path. I’ve worn a lot of different hats, and learning how to turn my creativity into something sustainable has come with plenty of uncertainty, rejection, and setbacks.
One of my biggest struggles has been learning to trust myself and stay consistent when things don’t happen as quickly as I want them to. I’ve had moments where I questioned whether I was on the right path or felt like I was starting over, but those experiences taught me resilience and forced me to become more disciplined and intentional.
I’ve also gone through personal challenges that changed the way I see myself and what I want out of life. Learning to break unhealthy patterns, set boundaries, and prioritize my own growth hasn’t always been comfortable.
Looking back, I wouldn’t call those struggles failures. They’ve been some of my greatest teachers. They’ve made me more self-aware, adaptable, and determined and they’ve given me a much deeper understanding of the kind of person and entrepreneur I want to become.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work sits at the intersection of content creation, social media strategy, marketing, events, and personal branding. I’m a creative entrepreneur who helps brands and businesses show up authentically, create engaging content, and connect with their audience in a way that feels genuine rather than overly sales driven.
I specialize in social media strategy and content creation, UGC, brand partnerships, event activations, and creator marketing. I’ve also worked as a model, brand ambassador, event talent, and creative director, which has given me a unique perspective on both the creative and business sides of the industry.
I’m most proud of building a career around my creativity while continuing to evolve and create opportunities for myself and others. I’ve been able to turn skills that started as individual creative interests into real business opportunities, collaborations, and communities.
What sets me apart is the combination of creativity, strategy, and personality that I bring to my work. I understand what it takes to create something that looks good, but I also think about the bigger picture who we’re trying to reach, what we want them to feel, and ultimately what action we want them to take.
I think people also know me for being very authentic and versatile. I’m not afraid to try something new, put myself out there, or reinvent myself when something no longer aligns with where I’m going. That ability to adapt while staying true to myself has been one of my biggest strengths.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very creative, curious, and expressive. I’ve always loved being around people, performing, creating, and finding different ways to express myself. I was drawn to things like beauty, fashion, dance, music, and anything that allowed me to use my creativity.
Personality-wise, I was definitely someone who felt things deeply and had a big personality. I’ve always been independent and willing to try new things, even if I didn’t always have everything figured out. At the same time, I think a lot of my younger years were spent learning how to understand myself, build confidence, and figure out where I fit in.
Looking back, I can see that a lot of the things I naturally gravitated toward as a kid creativity, performing, connecting with people, and bringing ideas to life ended up becoming a huge part of who I am today. I didn’t necessarily have a clear picture of what my career would look like, but I think I’ve always had that entrepreneurial and creative spirit in me.
