Central Texas Junk Pros started with a simple lesson about hard work. My son, Bowen, wanted to upgrade his baseball equipment, including getting a new bat, so instead of simply buying it for him, I encouraged him to find a way to earn the money. He was only 10 years old at the time, but he took the idea seriously and even wrote a business plan (with some help). What began as a father helping his son reach a goal soon became Central Texas Junk Pros.
We started small, helping friends, neighbors and members of our community remove unwanted furniture, appliances and other items from their properties. As word spread, we began receiving calls for larger projects, including whole-house cleanouts, garage and barn cleanouts, hot-tub removals and light demolition. Each job helped us gain experience, improve our equipment and build a reputation for being honest, dependable and willing to work hard.
Today, Central Texas Junk Pros proudly serves Austin, Fayette, Lee and Washington Counties, along with the surrounding Central Texas area. We have grown from a simple idea into a licensed and insured family business capable of handling everything from a single-item pickup to large property cleanouts and demolition projects.
Although the business has grown, the reason behind it has never changed. We are still a father-and-son team building something meaningful together. Our company is faith-based and built on honesty, integrity, hard work and treating people the way we would want our own family to be treated.
For me, the most rewarding part has been watching Bowen learn about responsibility, customer service and entrepreneurship at such a young age. Central Texas Junk Pros removes junk, but our story is really about much more than that—it is about serving our neighbors, creating opportunities and building a legacy together as a family.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most small businesses, one of our biggest challenges has been finding new customers and getting our name in front of the right people. We have had to build our reputation one job at a time through word of mouth, social media and simply providing the kind of service that makes customers comfortable recommending us to others.
Scheduling has also been a challenge. Central Texas Junk Pros is currently a side business that we are working to grow, so I have to balance it with my full-time job and our family responsibilities. Sometimes our availability does not immediately line up with a customer’s preferred schedule, especially when they need something removed quickly.
Fortunately, most of the time we are able to communicate with the customer and find a time that works for everyone. Those challenges have taught us the importance of being flexible, communicating clearly and following through on what we promise. We are continuing to grow at a manageable pace, and our long-term goal is to turn Central Texas Junk Pros into an even larger and more established family business.

Central Texas Junk Pros is a family-owned junk removal and light-demolition company serving Austin, Fayette, Lee and Washington Counties and the surrounding Central Texas area.
