Community Highlights: Meet Hannah Johnson of The Libido Fairy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Johnson.

Hi Hannah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Austin in 2017 for a relationship with my partner at the time who I thought would be my husband. After just a few months of living together, my libido took a significant dive and it had major negative implications on our relationship. But this was a pattern for me. In nearly all of my relationships, I’d struggled with losing libido after just the first few months. And when that long-term relationship with my Austin partner ended in 2020, I knew that I had to do something about it. I had been working in coaching and therapy for years with a background in business building, but I dropped everything to spend two years working on my desire, intimacy, libido, and sex life. I spend hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on courses, mentors, books, podcasts, certifications, to learn why I struggled with sex. I shared my journey on social media along the way and started realizing I wasn’t alone. I saw how many other women struggled the same way I did. In 2022, I launched The Libido Fairy business and started sharing the tools, frameworks, and solutions I had discovered in my pursuit of education in sex. Over the last four years, we’ve grown an audience of nearly 1M followers across platforms like instagram, substack, and youtube. My business has helped thousands of women with their sex life through my online workshops, courses, and coaching programs. And I’m now in a thriving marriage having the best sex of my life, excited to continue to advocate for women’s pleasure and freedom.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Obstacles shared in the previous story. The biggest struggles were:
– not finding easily accessible information that actually helped about libido
– growing up in shame and purity culture
– lack of quality free sex education for women
– lack of pleasure education for women

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I discussed much of this in the first question.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the people here in Austin. I’ve met my best friends here and the community is the most wonderful, loving, uplifting, supportive people I’ve ever had in my life. What I like least about Austin is our struggles as a city to find good solutions for the homelessness problem here.
