Life & Work with Mandi Morin of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandi Morin.

Hi Mandi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Southern Touch was a dream for over 20 years.

Upon completion of high school i attended culinary school but unfortunately has to drop out due to financial issues. Working in restraunts and hotels became my everyday life until 2022 when I finally got the push from my husband. Mark Morin. In 2022 I competed culinary school and added that to my resume to establish myself in the private chef world.

Being a parent to an autistic son, and having two other boys wasnt easy for us with me on this new journey, but we pushed thru. In late 2023, my husband was amputated at the knee for diabetic issues. Until then he was the primary source of income. I had to brush off my chef coat and make Southern Touch a full time gig.

I accepted jobs all over texas and even oaklahoma. Establishing myself in weddi is and events as well as the private chef and some meal prep work.

On June 27,2026 my husband passed away due to diabetic complications. Southern was his dream as much as mine. Now, I strive for greatness in his memory.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. Managing a full time career with 3 boys, one autistic, and a husband confined to a wheelchair and needing dyalisis 3 times a week made my journey almost impossible.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

What does success mean to you?
