Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie De La Rosa.
Carrie , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started Carrie Rosa Beauty & Permanent Jewelry because I’ve always loved the beauty industry and knew I wanted to build something of my own. Over the years, the business has grown and changed so much, and honestly a lot of it has just been figuring out what my clients love and what works best for me.
One of the biggest changes was adding permanent jewelry, which has grown to become the biggest part of my business today. I started doing more pop-ups, wineries, private parties and events, and that’s really where I saw the business take off. At the same time, I was also offering mobile spray tans and started realizing how much people loved the convenience of me coming to them. Whether it’s permanent jewelry for a party or event or getting a spray tan in the comfort of their own home, people really value that accessibility.
Once I saw how much the mobile side of my business was thriving, it made sense to close my studio at the beginning of 2026 and go completely mobile. It’s honestly been such a good change for my business and has allowed me to focus on what’s working and continue growing.
Somewhere along the way, I also found my way into content creation! I started working with brands and creating content, and that has turned into another part of my career that I absolutely love. Today I balance my full-time career, Carrie Rosa Beauty and content creation. It definitely keeps me busy, but I genuinely love all the different things I get to do and I’m excited to see where they take me next.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of my biggest lessons has been learning when to pivot instead of forcing something just because it was the original plan. Closing my studio was a big example of that. At first, it was hard not to look at closing a physical location as taking a step backward, but my business was actually doing better mobile. Once I stopped focusing on what I thought a successful business was supposed to look like and started paying attention to what was actually working, the decision became a lot easier.
Balancing everything has probably been another one of my biggest challenges. I work full-time, run Carrie Rosa Beauty and create content for brands, so there are definitely days when I wonder why I decided I needed three jobs! But I really do love all of them.
We’ve been impressed with Carrie Rosa Beauty & Permanent Jewelry, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is a mobile permanent jewelry and spray tanning business serving the Texas Hill Country and surrounding areas. Permanent jewelry has definitely become the biggest part of my business. I offer stainless steel, sterling silver and 14k gold-filled chains, along with charms and lots of different options at different price points, so there really is something for everyone.
You can usually find me doing pop ups at wineries and local events, but I also bring permanent jewelry directly to private parties, birthdays, girls’ nights and other events. I also offer mobile spray tanning where I come directly to my clients, which makes it super convenient, especially when they’re getting ready for a trip, wedding or special event.
What I love most is how many relationships I’ve built through my business. I have customers who come back to see me over and over, and venues that continue inviting me back year after year. I really try to make it more than just getting a bracelet or a spray tan. I want people to have fun, feel comfortable and leave feeling good about themselves.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I’ve never really had one specific mentor, but networking and building genuine relationships has been huge for me. Some of my best opportunities have come simply from putting myself out there, talking to people and staying connected.
My biggest advice would be to not be afraid to introduce yourself, ask questions and support other people in your industry. I’ve learned that networking doesn’t always have to feel formal. Sometimes it’s just being friendly, showing up consistently and building real relationships. You never know which connection might lead to your next opportunity
