Meet Meredith Stratigopoulos of Guerra LLP

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Stratigopoulos.

Hi Meredith, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I graduated from high school in a small-town in Texas with nineteen people in my class. From there, I moved to New York City before landing back at TCU and then later graduating from UT Law.

I made partner at a mass tort and litigation firm when I was 29 and have since and have established my family and law practice in Central Texas.

The same year I made partner, accusations of sexual abuse arose out of a gymnastics facility in my hometown, a facility that had been in operation since I was in elementary school and had been attended by my friends and family. Seeing names I recognized, locations I knew and a community I loved at the center of such serious allegations called me back to small-town Texas. I took on representation of one of the survivors, seeking accountability and justice on her behalf, walking her and her family through the intense process that is sexual abuse litigation to resolution.

That case ignited a fire in me, sending me on a path to represent survivors of abuse and misconduct.

Since then, I have worked on behalf of thousands of women and men who have sued Uber for claims of sexual abuse. I have represented survivors against large corporations, professional athletes and other high profile figures. Whether it is regarding claims of sexual abuse or other corporate misconduct, I am proud to represent my clients as they bravely move forward with their stories.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Litigation is an adversarial process by design. Sexual abuse work gets personal, on both sides of the aisle, and can feel exhausting. This work will never be easy. Nevertheless, I have continued down my path knowing that my work is meaningful and has brought closure to women and men walking through their darkest days.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Guerra LLP?
I am a partner with Guerra LLP where I manage a sexual abuse and litigation practice. We are trial lawyers who handle complex litigation, serious personal injury, wrongful death, mass torts and commercial litigation throughout Texas and the Nation.

What were you like growing up?
I was one of those kids who everyone said was going to be a lawyer when she grows up, and here we are.

I have always been competitive, driven and self-assured. After years playing competitive soccer, I founded a debate society at my small school and participated in competitions throughout the country. Movement, both in life and work, has been a foundation of my life.

I didn’t like social constructs or bullies then, and still don’t like them now.
