Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Gutierrez.
desiree, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in a home with doors wide open. People of all ages, from all over the world, gathered around our table, often in the middle of major life transitions. My family offered love, food, faith, and a place to be heard. Our home was grounded in the life-giving teachings of Yeshua, Jesus, and I’m deeply grateful for that. I was taught that we are three-part beings: body, soul, and spirit. I learned to turn within, connect my spirit with Spirit, and be both an observer and a participant in my own life, noticing my thoughts, my emotions, and the stories shaping my choices.
Hundreds of people came through our home, some seeking healing from physical illness, and I was my mom’s sidekick through it all. I heard their stories and saw how life’s experiences showed up in the body. I learned that how we relate to life’s difficulties shapes how we move through them, and I saw what happens when the mind tries to control everything. Most of all, I learned compassion. That’s where my passion for the human experience began.
I started studying young: the energetics of food, yoga, traditional Chinese medicine, herbalism, breathwork, and Ayurveda. I went on to teach Contrology and build wellness businesses, all exploring how our bodies, emotions, and choices shape one another.
Real estate was never my plan. God had another one. A dear friend hired me to build and run a private luxury short-term rental company for his properties, and I ran it for several years. When he tragically passed away, we sold the homes and closed everything down. I was grieving someone I deeply loved, with no idea what came next, and holistic wellness wasn’t yet the mainstream desire it is today. On my knees, crying out to God, I was reminded: I already had my real estate license.
Me?! The most earthly, money-driven, shark-filled industry there is? I lived in the ether. I “talked” to organs!
During that season, I got a DWI. It was my rock bottom, and it became one of the greatest gifts of my life. Sitting in a jail cell that morning, I knew enough was enough. I stopped drinking, returned to the practices that care for my body, soul, and spirit, and decided to give real estate a try, with one commitment: I’d do it my own way.
Choice by good choice, my self-esteem was rebuilt, my self-trust, and my clarity. To GOD be the Glory! In my first year, I ranked in the top 3% of agents in Austin. Every year for the last ten years, I’ve ranked in the top 1–1.5% in Central Texas. I am a global keynote speaker, and currently lead and support regenerative and wellness communities being built around the world.
Early on in my career, I recognized something familiar. Real estate is a powerful mirror for how people make decisions. Money, safety, belonging, identity, possibility, and control all come to the surface when someone buys or sells a home. That’s when my passion lit up.
Today, I blend practical real estate guidance with thoughtful conversation and journal prompts, helping clients get clear on what matters most and make grounded decisions through life’s big transitions.
People often say real estate is your biggest investment. I believe you are. Real estate is a powerful tool for creating the life you want to live.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course it hasnt been a smooth road! If an entrepreneur tells you it’s been a smooth road, they’re not really in business. Entrepreneurship is one of the most humbling journeys there is. It’s the ultimate dojo: you face yourself, your limiting beliefs, your own voice, and you do the constant work of staying on your path.
Without getting into the stories, here are a few things I learned the hard way.
Never hire out of desperation. No good decision comes from that energy.
Discernment is everything. Who I work with, which projects get my attention, and when to say no. A lot. I’m still continuing to learn this one. We are human, with truly limited energy /awareness in one day– where is it going?
Don’t take on your clients’ stress. Buying or selling a home can be one of the most stressful experiences in a person’s life. I know my role is to lead, steady and experienced, so my clients have someone solid to lean on. If a client gets stressed and then the leader gets stressed, then the client is leading.
Let your life evolve. Real estate can consume your whole life. I’m proud of the decade I hustled. But my needs and desires have shifted. I’ve built a thriving business on trust, and I’ve realized: wow, I can slow down. I can let myself be taken care of, and spend more time with the people I love.
And here’s the beautiful part: a grounded, rested agent is a better one. My clients get the best of me, not what’s left of me.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Good Days Realty Austin is my boutique luxury real estate brand, under Compass. I help buyers, sellers, and investors in Austin’s $800k–$3.5M+ market make some of the biggest moves of their lives with clarity and confidence.
I’m known for being both sharp and steady. The practical side is non-negotiable: more than a decade in the top 1–1.5% of Central Texas agents, deep market knowledge, smart pricing strategy, skilled negotiation, and an incredible network of lenders and 1031 exchange specialists I trust completely.
What sets me apart is what I bring alongside all of that. I call it Real Estate Alchemy. People call me ‘Home Magic’.
Buying or selling a home stirs up far more than paperwork: money, safety, family, identity, the future. Most agents work around those feelings effecting decisions. My clients and I work with them, the emotions and the patterns underneath for centered clarity. Because of my background, I know how to help people move what they’re carrying in their thoughts, their emotions, and even their bodies into clarity. Through thoughtful conversation, curated journal prompts, and other incredible tools we calm the nervous system, make decisions from clarity instead of fear or pressure.
Real Estate Alchemy is a living process. I’m constantly refining it, and I’m excited that it is becoming a clear, repeatable process every client can walk through.
What am I most proud of? That I show up for what God and life asks through me. I’m grateful to run a fully referral-based business, and I’m proud that my clients trust me and say YES. Most of all, I’m proud of how much beautiful transformation happens for everyone inside such a human journey: home, investments, life.
I love what I get to do: be there for the human through life’s biggest decisions and transitions. You don’t have to choose between an agent who’s brilliant with the numbers and one who truly sees you. You can have both.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
First and above all, the Creator. All my gratitude and glory go to God, who has guided and protected me through every season. God is the CEO of my business.
My family. Their love and support have meant everything my entire life. The open table I grew up around is still the foundation of who I am.
Dr. Betty® Uribe, my mentor and a real-life angel. A former Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase, she’s now a global leadership expert and a United Nations Ambassador for Peace & Human Rights. She’s teaching me to lead like a CEO and from the heart, to own my worth, and to always come back to my values. And she’s connected me with incredible people around the world.
Matt Robbins, who brought me into real estate. The morning after that night on my knees asking God for guidance, I met Matt at a coffee shop. We talked about life for an hour. I had no idea he was a real estate agent. That same day, he called and offered me a spot on his team. He saw something in me long before I could see it in myself. I still call that coffee an answered prayer.
And to all my clients: past, present, and those I’ve yet to meet. My business runs entirely on referrals, which means every client who trusted me and then sent someone they love my way has helped build it. I don’t take that lightly.
