Rising Stars: Meet Sorangel Garcia of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sorangel Garcia.

Hi Sorangel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi! I started embroidery this summer. Loved customizing gifts and thought i should buy and embroider my own. One day i just went down to Austin Sewing and asked about a 6 needle brothers machine and a few days later purchased it! It was a fast decision but felt so right. Since then I’ve had over 50 orders between personal & my Etsy shop. I can’t wait to see where this takes us(:

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Trying to figure out digitizing is something they certainly won’t tell you in stores lol digitizing a logo comes with so many layers (literally) and it can be very overwhelming trying to get it right. A lot of embroidery businesses will outsource their digitizing but I’m happy to say we do all of our digitizing in house courtesy of my husband.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
This is actually my 5-9 everyday! I work in finance full time and after work i get started on my orders. I am working all the time and i wouldn’t have it any other way. I love both worlds. I have always loved to be creative and embroidery has given me the outlet to do so. The embroidery community is amazing also.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was probably all the holidays. The traditions, the food! The family. I hope to bring in custom orders this holiday season to make someone’s memory of that moment just that much more special.
