Check Out Chavelita DeLuz’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chavelita DeLuz.

Hi Chavelita, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was a hairstylist for 25 years. A color specialist most of that time frame. A color corrector was a big part of my business specializing in vivid pure tones. I also am a reiki practitioner. A costumer reached out to me who was my tattoo artist over 20 years ago for a reiki session. We got to talking about pure pigment colors after his session and he started picking my brain. One thing lead to another and we ended up dating, getting married and collaborating extensively in his tattoo ink business who uses pure powdered pigments

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. The thing got us mostly in this whole partnership was the tragic events that were endured thru Covid. I was still working in salon and he had a business partner to bounce color ideas off of. We lost that partner to the delta variant. We had contracted the virus from the partner at that time as well. Business partner Dano Sanchez passed away but we survived. We were sick with the delta variant for two months. After that I just did not go back to the salon and started working full time with Luna Pigment tattoo company which we own together now that we’ve gotten married. Navigating working and living together has been quite the journey and we find it gets sweeter and smoother as each year passes. We inspire each other and find great motivation in each others energy.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have an eye for making things estheticly and energetically sacred. With reverence I go into situations and creations to the rhythm of my heart and my own drum. With intention with a vision. I’m a reiki practitioner A hairstylist and currently my biggest focus is on mixing and curating pure powdered organic tattoo pigment. I do put healing energy into every batch I mix and every bottle I pour and ship out. I also run production, shipping, and distribution. I am most proud of the amount of growth I’ve experienced as a human, as a partner, and in our numbers within the business past 5.5 years. Our business has grown 375% in the past 5 years!!!! and 22% the past 3 years! We’ve implemented many of my ideas like our website was private we’ve gone public now and are working closely with the FDA to be the first color pigment color approved by the FDA. We are 75% done with that process. We’ve also implemented selling 1 ounce bottles before we were only selling two and 4 ounce bottles and by that measure we have grown substantially.. I handle relationships with our distributors, making sure each order is to their loving.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I read a lot about Marcus Aurelius teachings. I study and practice buddhism. So the heart of the Lotus sutra is a favorite of mine. Books like the five agreements and all of the agreement series are important to me.. I believe that life is art and in that I’m a radical artist having the most amazing life experience. My biggest recourse for inspiration is the experiences I have observing nature and humans.
