Conversations with Anastasiia Preston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anastasiia Preston.

Hi Anastasiia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into content creation started with a passion for fashion, creativity, and helping women feel more confident in what they wear. I’ve always loved experimenting with clothing, understanding how different pieces work together, and finding ways to make personal style feel more approachable.

Before becoming a full-time content creator, I worked as a photographer, which gave me a strong foundation in visual storytelling, composition, and understanding what makes content engaging.

In February 2026, I decided to take my passion for fashion more seriously and began creating short, educational videos focused on styling tips, color combinations, body proportions, and practical ways to elevate everyday outfits. My goal was to make fashion advice easy to understand, visually engaging, and accessible to women of all shapes, sizes, and budgets.

What happened next exceeded my expectations. Within just a few months, my content reached millions of people, and I grew a community of over 3.4 million followers across social media platforms. What started as a creative outlet quickly turned into a full-time business, opening doors to collaborations with fashion brands and opportunities I hadn’t imagined when I first started.

Over the past three months, I’ve also been working on developing my own personal styling app, which I’m incredibly excited about. My vision is to create something genuinely useful that helps people better understand their personal style, put together outfits, and make the most of the clothing they already own. I’m a perfectionist by nature, so I’ve been putting a tremendous amount of thought into every detail, from the styling principles behind the recommendations to the overall user experience. For me, it’s not about rushing to launch a product just to have something on the market. I want to create something that actually works, solves real problems, and provides meaningful value to the people who use it. I’m taking my time to make sure it’s something I can truly be proud of.

Looking back, it’s incredible how much has changed in such a short period of time. What started as a passion for sharing styling advice has grown into a community, a business, and now an opportunity to build something even bigger. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I definitely wouldn’t say it’s been an entirely smooth road, although I feel incredibly fortunate for how quickly things have grown.

One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the unpredictability of social media. You can spend hours researching, planning, filming, and editing a video, only for it to perform poorly, while something you put together much more quickly can reach millions of people. Algorithms are constantly changing, and I’ve had to learn not to let the numbers dictate how I feel about my work. It’s especially challenging when social media is not just a creative outlet but also your livelihood.

Another challenge has been balancing motherhood with running a growing business. I started taking content creation seriously when my son was just over a year old, so I’ve essentially been building my career while raising a toddler. There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes that people don’t see, from filming and editing to communicating with brands, managing deadlines, researching styling concepts, and now developing an app. Finding enough hours in the day can sometimes feel impossible!

I’m also naturally a perfectionist, which can be both a strength and a weakness. I care deeply about the quality of everything I put out, but I’ve had to learn that not everything needs to be absolutely perfect to be valuable. That’s something I’m still working on, especially as I take on bigger projects.

Ultimately, I think the biggest lesson has been learning to adapt, stay consistent, and trust the process without getting too attached to immediate results. There will always be challenges, but I genuinely love what I do, and that makes the difficult days worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a fashion content creator specializing in educational styling videos that make fashion easier to understand and apply to everyday life. My content focuses on color combinations, body proportions, outfit formulas, and the little details that can completely transform an outfit.

What I’m probably best known for is breaking down styling principles into simple, visually engaging videos. Rather than just showing people what to wear, I explain why certain combinations work, how different silhouettes affect proportions, and how small adjustments can make a big difference. I want my audience to walk away from each video having actually learned something they can use in their own wardrobe.

I think what sets my content apart is that I approach fashion almost like a science. Of course, personal style is subjective, and there are no rules that everyone has to follow, but there are principles involving color, balance, proportion, and visual harmony that can help people understand why certain outfits look the way they do. I love taking those concepts and making them accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget, body type, or personal aesthetic.

Another thing that’s important to me is being practical. I don’t believe that looking stylish should require constantly buying new clothes or chasing every trend. In fact, some of my favorite styling tips involve simply changing how you combine pieces you already own. My goal is to help women become more intentional and confident with their wardrobes rather than feel pressured to keep up with whatever is currently popular.

What I’m most proud of is the community I’ve built in such a short amount of time. Growing to 3.4 million followers across social media platforms in less than a year is something I never could have imagined when I started. But beyond the numbers, what means the most to me are the messages and comments from women telling me they’ve learned something new, started experimenting with their style, or finally understood why certain outfits weren’t working for them.

I’m also incredibly proud of the personal styling app I’m currently developing. It’s an opportunity to take the educational aspect of my content one step further and create something that can help people on a much more personalized level. I’ve been working on it for the past three months, and while there’s still a lot of work ahead, I’m excited about its potential.

Ultimately, I want to be known for making fashion education genuinely useful. I don’t just want people to watch my videos because an outfit looks pretty. I want them to leave feeling like they understand their own style a little better than they did before.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Austin is the balance between the energy of a growing city and a more relaxed, family-oriented lifestyle. There’s so much happening here, from new restaurants and local businesses to outdoor activities and creative events, but it still feels like a place where you can slow down and enjoy life. As a mom, I especially appreciate how many beautiful parks, green spaces, and family-friendly activities there are. I also love the entrepreneurial spirit of the city. There are so many people building businesses, pursuing creative careers, and turning their ideas into something real, which I find incredibly inspiring.

What I like least would probably have to be the summer heat! I grew up in Ukraine, so adjusting to Texas summers has definitely been an experience. I love spending time outdoors, but when temperatures get close to 100 degrees, even a simple walk can become a challenge, especially with a toddler. The traffic can also be frustrating at times, particularly with how quickly the city has grown. But overall, Austin has been a wonderful place to call home, and I really appreciate the lifestyle we’re able to have here.
