Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Aubrey Smith.
Danielle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up being taught that relationships were supposed to look a certain way. There was a proper structure and a “right” way to love, to want, to be a woman.
For years, I believed that if I shared my truth, I’d be rejected.
Then my marriage ended. When my divorce was final, I was in so much internal agony. And somewhere in that pain I started asking what I actually wanted, in my body and in my life, without the shame I’d been handed.
That question became my work. I’ve been a relationship, sex and intimacy coach since 2018, and I started out in bodywork back in 2007, so the body has always been my way in. Today I work with women, men and couples all over the world and in person at my home in South Austin. I help people who shut down during intimacy, carry shame about sex, or lose themselves in relationships.
Along the way, I even started my own pleasure line and opened Wild Bloom, a CBD and ritual shop on North Lamar in downtown Austin, where I hosted and facilitated conscious events.
My biggest calling is liberation from shame, and living in our fullest, most alive expression.
I’m a devoted mom and a woman with desire. Spiritual and erotic. I used to think I had to choose. I don’t.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, not smooth. I’ve stayed too long before. I’ve ignored what my body was screaming. There was a breakup after my divorce that honestly hurt more than the divorce itself.
Raising my kid on my own while building this practice took a lot of faith. And the hardest part was inside me, unlearning the voice that said a “good” woman doesn’t talk about sex. Every one of those seasons is now something I get to hold for my clients.

What I love most is the moment someone realizes their desire was never the problem. The shame was. And when that shame starts to soften, people come alive. They laugh more. They ask for what they want. They feel at home in their own skin.
What a beautiful privilege to witness that.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t really call it luck. I call it grace.
The hardest seasons of my life, my divorce, the breakup that cracked me open, the years of carrying shame, didn’t feel lucky at the time. But each one led me closer to my body, my truth and this work.
And the right people kept showing up at exactly the right moment. Clients, teachers and friends who saw me and appreciated me deeply. God, I’m grateful for them.
