Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Evan Sledge.
Hi Tyler Evan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From the time I was 3 years old, I found great joy in viewing new construction homes and model homes. It started when my parents would ask me what I would like to do on any given weekend. My answer would always be the same; “Let’s go look at new construction houses and model homes”. It was one of my favorite things to do as a child and still is today.
I was hooked after watching my childhood home being built. I fell in love watching the entire process from beginning to end. Little did I know, I was always fascinated with interior design even before I knew what interior design was.
Fast forward, I graduated from the Art Institute of Austin with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. As I developed my working knowledge, I found that I really like working with builders/developers and contractors. There is nothing like starting a project from ground up and watching the process to completion—it never gets old. I started my Austin Based company Ty Evan Interior Design in the latter part of 2025 primarily focusing on new construction, home remodel, and residential design.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was not smooth, but it didn’t have potholes in it either. The initial challenge was getting my name out there. Connecting with contractors and builders was my primary focus when I started my company. Once I developed a relationship with one, then two—word of mouth then became the connection to increasing my business portfolio.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business, Ty Evan Interior Design, was developed because I wanted to do what I like for me and no one else. Developing Ty Evan Interior Design wasn’t something I decided to do without careful thought. I didn’t wake up one day and say, “I’m going to start a business.” I did it after it made sense to do so.
As I began to do more business with developers, contractors and homeowners, I no longer wanted to do the work without having a company name to back my work. So, I decided that name would be mine—Ty Evan.
The proudest moment under my brand was when my first client/developer of a condo project stated, “you have Carte Blanc—go for it.” The confidence the developer displayed in me is why Trust is part of my promise. As a result, my brand is now on its second condo project with this developer.
This is the one thing I would want your readers to know about my brand is that it stands on delivering on my promise of building great relationships and trust—a combination that produces the best results.
