Daily Inspiration: Meet Tenants

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tenants.

Hi Tenants, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Tenants started as a group in 2023. Charles, the founder of Tenants, wanted to make music to connect with deeper, more honest parts of themselves- and the community. In May of 2025 Sidney was recited to play bass. In February of 2026 Austin started playing drums for us.
Since then, we have been playing steady gigs, recording, and filming music videos. As well as community outreach through our label, Stonefroot records.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’d say it’s been a rough little climb to get where we are. But I’d say I’m grateful for those bumps and hard times because through that, we’ve been able to build something that not only aligns with us as individual musicians, but also a place where we feel the most comfortable sharing ourselves!

A large part of what Sid and I (Charles) struggled with is finding a drummer who really aligned with our shared values as well as had the talent to inspire us. We’re so lucky to have found Austin, he’s our everything!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Something that sets our band apart is our willingness to create anything and everything, as long as it feels right! We are here for the music- the energy exchange between us and the audience.
Something I, Charles, am the most proud of is creating a record label with my best friends. We are actively looking to participate and grow the community we’re in, and support queer and trans artists in Austin and the surrounding areas.

How do you think about luck?
We’re just all lucky we found each other! It was a good coincidence that both Sidney and Austin met in a different gigging band, and they both left because of creative differences and started playing together with Charles. We all get along pretty well, which we’re grateful for.
