Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Ann.
Hi Brittany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey began as a middle school math educator who simply enjoyed teaching and exercising as a hobby. A year and a half into education I began my journey as bikini bodybuilder competitor. Now, don’t think that I just stepped on stage with all the confidence in the world. It took three years of persuasion from my friends before I actually decided to compete in my first show. I was a very shy person and just becoming comfortable and confident within my own skin. After my first show in 2018, I realized how much I really enjoyed fitness, teaching from every aspect, and performing. This really inspired me to really go after my dreams of becoming a full-time athlete, trainer, and model. After three and a half years of being an educator, I decided to step out on faith and become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Trainer. I was determined to go after everything I had only dreamt of doing. As of 2021, I have accomplished becoming a professional bodybuilder, athlete with C4 & XTEND brands, an athlete for a bikini competing company, published in various magazines such as STRONG Fit, and blessed to have a full schedule of lifestyle clients that I train. The journey I leave in God’s hands. I just continue to enjoy each day as an entrepreneur. My goal is to inspire others to never give up on their dreams. It’s all possible with a little faith and consistency no matter how difficult it may get at times. Just because it has or hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean it can’t come true for you. Don’t compare your timing or storms to anyone else’s.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve learned so much from my journey. Just know whether you choose to settle for a lifestyle that gets the bills paid or you choose to step out and follow your dreams and goals, there will always be mountains and doubtful days that make you want to quit. The goal is to do what you love so you always find the growth & gratitude in the hard days. Leaving a salary job with benefits and guarantees required more faith than I realized. Everyday there has been new challenges to overcome internally and externally. Many of which I had no control over. Heck I quit my job December 2019 then in 2020 COVID happened…talk about a bumpy road. I then received a job doing what I love, being a boxing instructor, but I remained stagnant due to a lack of personal growth. The company closed down so I was literally left with no other choice but to get the ball rolling on my personal brand. March through December of 2020, I traveled to clients across the city to train and make ends meet. I also offered online fitness sessions and continued working towards my personal fitness goals to prepare for my Pro card as a bodybuilder in order to keep advancing my brand. Some days I had to rely on my friend’s support for help.
Thankfully, I received a sponsorship with SnapKitchen as an Ambassador so my food was taken care of. Financially, mentally, spiritually, and physically it became very hard. I never gave up because I knew God didn’t bless me with opportunities of advancement to succumb to doubt and fear. Those moments were just a testimony and proved that the struggle was worth the reward. So just know as long as you don’t give up it will work itself out. My journey has made me stronger so when the next storm arises, I don’t fold or get weary. I will be ready for the next opportunity that is presented to me. Daily growth and living with intention in combination with my efforts/actions has contributed to my success. I continue to read books, learn new skills, and trust that I wake up each day because I still have a purpose. I will make it through too…where I no longer have to “make ends meet” & can create more moments. I’ve come so far and it’s only up from here, no matter what I go through. I always practice gratitude even on the days where I just need to cry. My goal is to become a “successful” trainer, athlete, and public speaker for others to know that never quitting gets you somewhere and just because it’s hard doesn’t mean it’s a no. It’s only a no if you give up on your dream. Even if I only help one person, my purpose is being fulfilled through my passions.
