Conversations with Adam Hartle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Hartle. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Sunsetstrip comedy club began when Jason Hicks, longtime Austin businessman, had the thought to have comedy shows at the Sunset Room and told his friend and restauranteur Anthony Hashem about his idea who then told his comedian best friend Adam Hartle and together the three partners as well as our director Ellie Little began the work to bring comedy shows to downtown ATX.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s surprisingly been very smooth so far. So many comics are wanting to move to Austin now combined with the talent already here, and we’ve been fortunate to bring in great national headliners to our stage, and the crowds have been phenomenal.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
One of my business partners and I, Anthony Hashem, were in Denver Colorado in 2012 to document the legalization of marijuana and together we purchased the first joints legally sold on January 1, 2014 during the filming of our documentary “mile high – the comeback of cannabis”.

What makes you happy?
Weed, family, friends, music, and laughing. Life’s too short not to have a good time.
