Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristi Adamcik.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in a small town just south of Dallas/Fort Worth. I graduated from high school a year early as well as being salutatorian, like my father. I started college at the age of 17. I graduated cum laude from the University of Texas in Arlington. I immediately began my teaching career in Mansfield ISD. After eight years of teaching in a very rough neighborhood where 99% of students live in poverty level and over 50 languages represented at my particular school, I was ready for a change. I sold my house, quit my job and moved to a lakefront condo in Granbury, Texas. I started my real estate career in 2014. I hit the ground running and had over 2 million sold in my very first year!
At that point, I was single and in my early 30s I knew I wanted to meet someone special. I turned to match.com and in less than one month met my current husband Scott! He was a package deal and came with two wonderful children who are now my bonus children, Evan age ten and Liz age eight. He had been living in the Lago Vista area since 2008. I moved in with him and started dating in 2015.
I didn’t want to rush straight into the Austin market as I didn’t know the area well and I want to be an informed & educated resource for my clients. I worked in the title industry for a couple of years, which was actually a great experience to know what goes on fully from contract to close on both sides, from being a realtor to closing the deal on the title side.
I longed to be back in Real estate as an agent so I joined Amherst, the nation’s largest single-family investor buyer. I became licensed in multiple states- Texas, North Carolina, Georgia and Arizona. I dealt with over 50 to 100 listings at any given time, all by myself and without a team. I sharpened my multitasking skills, as well as my understanding of every little piece of the real estate contract. You can get nothing past me! It was during this time I became pregnant with my first baby boy Bradley, who is now 18 months old. After I had him in October 2019, I decided to go back to traditional real estate and get in the Austin market and I have never looked back!
I started with Berkshire Hathaway in March 2020 and started selling and listing right away. This year in 2021 alone, I was just recently awarded the number one agent for listings at my company and by the end of May, I will have sold over $10 million in real estate production since the beginning of January. Coinciding with this amazing production year, I have been pregnant since the beginning of 2021 as well! We will have our second child, a little girl name Lucy this August. My colleagues and agent peers have dubbed me “The Queen of Point Venture and the North Shore,” to which I take with great gratitude and humbleness.
I treat every client with a very concierge service and strive to make them feel as though they are my only client. I am there for them at any time of day. I am a listing specialist and know what it takes to get a property sold quickly and how to make it look exceptional. My reviews on Zillow and redfin are all five star and I appreciate all the kind words given. My business is now running on referrals alone and I’m so grateful to be doing what I love in a gorgeous Lake Travis town where I live and work! My family and clients are my top priority and I just love every minute of my life, family, friends, and city!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My dad passed when I was 11 and he worked his entire life at the same job, every day, and never took a day off. It wasn’t his dream job and he didn’t make a large sum amount of money.
So if anything what I learned from him was it is important to be happy. Although I love children and enjoyed teaching, it wasn’t my true passion. So scary as it is to end a career to start a new one, as well as uproot yourself from your home and town, I knew it would lead me to happiness….and I did! I found an incredible husband with two amazing bonus children, I have my two precious babies, a wonderful lakeside community, and I have a thriving and successful career now- all due to me taking a leap of faith! I am a firm believer in following your dreams.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a top producing agent in Austin, Texas. I was just recently awarded the number one agent at company-wide for Berkshire Hathaway and I am top 10% in the nation. My colleagues and peers call me “The Queen of Point Venture and the Northshore” For real estate, to which I am humbled. I have a collection of both buyers and sellers, but I am a listing specialist and do focus more on that side. My Zillow and redfin reviews are all five stars and I am extremely grateful for all the kind words and referrals. My business is solely run on referrals at this point and I consider that such a privilege.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the entire Austin area for the outdoor activities combined with the live music and culinary experiences! I love being out on Lake Travis and feeling the laid-back vibe of everyone. Lago Vista in particular has such an incredible landscape of views, the private lake Travis access, small-town feel, and is such a giving and warm-hearted community. I’ve never experienced anything like it anywhere else that I have lived.
