Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill and Stephanie Welch. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Wagging and Tagging LLC is a family-owned and operated small business. We are located on the outskirts of Austin, TX. We were inspired by our love for our own dog (Turbo) and the processes of enhancing photo opportunities for social media. Stephanie is from El Paso, TX and has a background in medical coding and has always had a passion for crafting. She started off customizing t-shirts, creating wreaths, and other projects while she perfected her craft. Bill retired from the Army in 2021 after a successful 20 years career. He was in the automotive maintenance field and completed four overseas tours. Bill spent much of his spare time fabricating parts and creating random projects.
With the talents combined of Bill and Stephanie, they are able to create personalized pet ID tags with a Fiber Laser and promote their business on social media.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting started was definitely the most difficult part of our journey. Learning what suppliers to use for quality blank ID tags, learning programs such as Adobe Illustrator and EZCAD, and getting a better understanding on how to properly market our business on social media. For the programmers out there, one of the most time-consuming and detailed parts of starting up was figuring out the parameters in order to permanently mark different types of metal and create the desired colors from the laser. Even the little things added up, such as figuring out how we want to package our products in order to try and bring a smile to customer’s faces and being able to work together as a two person team and achieve success.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wagging and Tagging LLC?
We personalize pet ID tags in order to enhance your companion’s collar. We strive to create the best tag possible each and every time a blank tag is placed under the laser to get its permanent markings. The tags we produce are much more than a piece of metal to us, they are a representation of what we stand for.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
There are so many childhood memories that bring joy to our hearts. If we had to pick just one memory, it would be knowing we both had parents that did everything they could to give us what we needed. This was not understood back then, however, we totally understand this now.
