Today we’d like to introduce you to Maurice Pierce.
Hi Maurice, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey first began in Savannah, GA at the start of the pandemic. Like many, I was furloughed from my job after five years of excellent service. With a family to help support and a dream to keep alive, I had to rely on my faith in God and myself to keep my fire burning.
Prior to the pandemic, I knew my calling in life was so much bigger so in a way the pandemic forced me to jump. After being laid off, I began using my voice to uplift people through good times and bad times. From there, I created my brand, “Built For This.”
This brand created a space for all to express every thought and feeling towards their current state with the understanding that no matter where you are in your life, you were “Built For” that moment, therefore you can maintain and/or overcome.
With that same output for others, I internalized that same philosophy within my own life.
In August of 2020, my family and I decided it was best to move to Texas for two reasons:
1) For me to further my career as an athlete.
2) To provide more opportunities for my wife and children.
As I continued to create motivational content for all, I began to activate every word shared within my own life.
And ultimately, received inspiration to obtain my Real Estate license.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My growth as a human and where I am now has not been easy, but neither is the growth of a flower nor the creation of a diamond.
I was faced with the challenge of jumping while being comfortable. I was battling between the two because the environment that I was in did not believe in success through risk, but in my heart and spirit, I knew it was time to jump.
Moving to Texas was that jump. I had no job, only family and a dream.
And honestly, sometimes that’s all what is needed.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an Inspirational Speaker and a Realtor. As an inspirational speaker, I seek to help others believe in their abilities to achieve goals and to become better each day.
As a Realtor, my mission is to help clients along their journey through buying, selling, investing or leasing. These four entities are a part of becoming and helping us shape the person we see ourselves in the present and in the future.
I also hope to reshape people’s perspective of Realtors.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Growing up, my dad etched “Staying Focused” within the hearts and minds of my two brothers and I. That was the foundation needed to create a discipline that would be the blueprint to where I am now.
Without the inspiration from the late Greg Oliver, my high school coach, I would have never found my gift as a track athlete.
Dean Chambers, my go-to mentor for business tips, branding and inspiration.
And more than anything, without faith in God and Him trusting me to be obedient with this mission, there is no way I would be where I am today.
