Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaleigh Wiese.
Kaleigh, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born an entrepreneur. As a child, I would rent books from the library about starting businesses – I wanted to help others and saw I could gain momentum on my own terms. I have launched many successful creative and tech businesses through the years, and the imprint of each of those on my life has gotten me to where I am today in my self-employment journey. These days, I help creative solopreneurs and small business owners find their visual brand and stand out in their communities through marketing, branding and design techniques. I offer consulting, courses and a membership to help them stand out.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur comes with lots of bumps in the road. Part of living this lifestyle is being open to learning hands on as you push forward into the unknown. You also have to understand you will fail along the way, but that is how you grow and find new opportunities you never thought of. If I had to go back and tell myself one thing that would have helped me is that I needed to honor my time and charge the value of that time. We can’t get that time back, and when we are overworked, we are also not able to be out best self for ourselves, loved ones and clients.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
During my career, I have seen many creatives who are phenomenal at their art-form but lack the knowledge and skillset to take their businesses to the level they could through proper branding and marketing. My goal is to help empower business owners who are competent and want to have the knowledge to level up their businesses through Fortune 500 marketing tactics! I do this through 1:1 consulting work, courses/classes and a community membership that provides ongoing support. And it fulfills me deeply seeing their growth.
I have dedicated my career to helping small business shine. Being left and right brain has always come naturally, and I believe strategic design practices can be taught, especially in the days of Canva and other tools at our fingertips.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
In 2019, I traveled to 52 cities to work with clients and speak to communities about fine-tuning their businesses. in 2020, my routine came to a halt and I was in Austin for the foreseeable future. Learning how to do my work digitally and remotely was a great challenge, but I found I had a greater reach. I am proud to have launched my online course and membership community to better support my clients in the last two years. The slow pace of life back then is missed in some ways, but understanding “there is always a plan B” in business is something I hope to take with me in my next chapter no matter what. We all can find ways to reinvent the way we serve our clients.
