Exploring Life & Business with Bridgette Hernandez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridgette Hernandez.

Hi Bridgette, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It was my last year in college when my father had a stroke that would eventually take his life. I was wrapping up my biology degree with a dream of being in the medical field when I took on the role of caregiver and spent six months at my father’s bedside in the hospital. The constant beeping from machines he was connected to day in and day out combined with watching people on his hospital floor pass away daily made me reevaluate my career path.

When he passed, I was lost, broke, depressed, and had no idea what my future held. I was working at a restaurant when they offered me a promotion that would move me to a new city. The city I was in was painted with my dad’s memory so, with nothing left to lose and the need for a fresh start, I took the job and started over.

That job eventually led me to sales which then took me into real estate. I didn’t know how I was going to achieve success in the real estate world, but I knew. I was determined and hell bent on making my dad proud. Within the first 90 days, I climbed to the top of my brokerage, and within six months I was breaking records and seeing money coming in I could have never even dreamed of. After a year, I had made more than I ever would have in the medical field and kept looking back at my days spent in the hospital suddenly becoming thankful for the beeping machines and the aftermath of loss that led me to a new direction and a new calling.

I have now built a following on TikTok, tag team my business with my fiance, and more importantly, I know I made my dad proud.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Some of the biggest struggles in doing business in real estate and social media is the comparison game. I have learned that I am constantly striving to hit my own goals and not anyone else’s.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Harrington Group with Rogers Healy & Associates. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My fiance and I just started our own real estate group with Rogers Healy and Associates. We help our clients buy, sell, lease, and invest in real estate. I have built a social media brand on TikTok and Instagram where I mostly feature luxury penthouses, apartments, lofts, and homes. Combined we have helped over 1,000 happy clients find their new homes and we are now looking to add on a few agents to our team!

We both grew up in poverty and I never had a long-term place to call home as a child so we take so much pride in helping people find a place to call their home and sanctuary. We know how truly important that is.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Covid-19 really taught me to be adaptable at all times. When the pandemic first started, I had to really shift my business, especially during quarantine, so that I could be a great resource for my clients during such a difficult time for everyone.
