Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin D’andrea.
Hi Kevin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I come from France I was finalist of top chef France 2015, I opened a very successful restaurant in Paris, I always dreamed of America so I decided to follow my dream and sell everything and come in America, I bought a plane ticket to Vegas and I found my way to Texas, it was the most difficult four years of my life, but finally after opening Foliepop’s the sky finally become blue, our family business going up and we gonna sell our Tartelettes to HEB very soon, we did a lot in one year and a half, opening during a pandemic was something,
I’m grateful to be in Texas, I would be nowhere else then where I am now.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing is easy when you build a business and even more difficult when is during a pandemic and you drive a food business. But luckily we was in Texas otherwise if we would be in another states we would be shutdown for sure.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Foliepop’s is a family business, we are a Coffeys house, pastry shop, you can find also some little hot brioche sandwich, we are new concept of pastries (www.foliepops.com)
We have three departments:
– Business to business, which means we making the desserts of some hotels downtown
– Heb: The tartelettes very soon on the aisle
– The store in the front where we selling some restaurant desserts in a boutique, with great coffees and teas.
Our brand is a unique French and American fusion pastry shop, we are a French family but we are grateful to be in Texas and we want to give that back.
