Hi Esmeralda, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi there, thank you so much for having me! I’m Esmeralda Mireles and I’m the CEO and Founder of Char’s Charcuterie, LLC. I grew up in the southernmost tip part of Texas, the Rio Grande Valley with my 5 siblings and single mother. I graduated from UT-Austin a while back (hook ‘em!) and created the business in 2021! I love creating custom charcuterie-graze boxes & spreads and it’s been an exciting journey to fulfill this passion of mine!
The business was named after my two dogs, Charlotte and Charlie and I created Char’s Charcuterie, LLC with the goal to give back to the community and our furry friends. I also wanted an opportunity to create a business and work for myself in hopes of keeping this venture within my family. I truly feel I developed the love for details, crafts, food, and catering from my mother. She, ‘til this day, loves to create jewelry, seasonal gifts and crafts. To me, family and love expands across various spectrums. My family, extended family and two kiddos keep me going and as I grew a love for Charcuterie, graze boards, arrangements and food (of course hehe), it all organically came together.
I enjoy pairing, styling food, and creating designs for special events. Growing up, I mostly worked within the food industry and loved event planning. Plus, food itself makes me happy! Creating custom graze boxes and spreads hits each of the areas I had a keen interest in.
I look up to our small businesses to continuously learn more and support local efforts to positively contribute to our economy. I also love the passion and inspiration behind the innovative ideas we get to express as business owners.
I love seeing folks strive and celebrate their milestones and admire those who take the time to create space to sponge up each beautiful moment life brings. We found that charcuterie & graze boards help us do that; stop, unwind, breathe and create memories over curations of tasteful, sweet, crunchy, savory delicacies.
I truly never thought I’d develop and own a business but it’s been the best decision that has allowed me to build meaningful relationships, give back and make an impact.
Given, there are hurdles in life, we hope our boxes & spreads bring our community a little bit more of that opportunity to cherish those happy, sweet moments.
And I truly hope you enjoy our boards as much as I enjoy creating them for you.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Hmmm, there have been some external factors such as the pandemic. It’s had a ripple effect on the services we provide and goods we use. The technical and business set up of the company itself was enlightening. Each day I’m learning something new; a new way to market, a new way to outreach, a new technique, a new style, a new experience, and I continue to grow my love for food and the exquisite art it creates. So why not give these new ideas a try first, you know?
Many lessons learned here but thankfully, we’ve been able to navigate through the challenges and seek out advice from other local vendors and gather ideas on some cost-effective options and resources. I also conduct a lot of research on the side and enjoy seeing the company operate through the lens of the customer and employee. Most importantly, I enjoy the opportunities to connect with our customers and fellow entrepreneurs one on one, as individuals.

Our small, local, woman, latina-owned business creates each piece from the heart with your preferences in mind and value all the positive impacts our neighboring small, local businesses provide. Char’s Charcuterie specializes in creating charcuterie graze boxes and spreads (table spreads) for all celebrations or even unique occasions.
Our boxes, cups, and cones are perfect for date nights, quinceaneras, bachelorette parties, baby showers, picnics, work meetings, cocktail hours, reunions, birthdays, and more! We offer pickup and delivery options, along with products that can fit any occasion.
Our products are custom made with fresh ingredients. We work with our customers to tailor their order to best meet their unique celebration for that special touch! Our curations include specialty cheeses, premium meats, seasonal fruits, nuts, sweet, savory accouterments, honey, jam, and crackers! We are open to accommodations and offer pickup and delivery, as well as bulk orders. We hope to expand into additional delicacies in the future!
I think one thing that may set us apart is our name, haha. I put the same amount of passion behind creating each order just as I would taking care of any other objective or my dogs (my world) – which is what inspired our company name.
