Today we’d like to introduce you to Jokia Williams.
Hi Jokia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In a nutshell, I’m a guitar-playing singer and songwriter, I started singing and falling in love with music when I was 12. I went into the army after high school and sang in the army as well.
I gave my life to Christ in the army and then my life changed. I was selected to be a part of the 2008 Army Soldier Show.
When I deployed to Iraq in 2008, I picked up the guitar and began to teach myself.
After the military and completing my master degree in Counseling.
I debuted my single “Yahweh”, which garnered the type of traction that is uncommon yet impressive for a release not supported by a record label or major marketing. The single went number 1 on Gospel Airplay billboard charts in the country.
I debut my first role as a reporter in a tv show called “Double Cross” which is featured on Allblk network and WetV.
My current single is called Let Him In which is also currently trending on the Billboard Charts at number 18
There is more than music to me. I am also a proud wife (to Benjamin Williams) and a mother of two amazing daughters (Felicia & Jasmine Williams). I love being a professional counselor and inspiring others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Visibility: I am an independent artist; so it can be challenging to gain visibility as sometimes Artist when signed by a major record label the opportunities are more often presented.
Though this has been a challenge GOD has truly opened many opportunities that I am so grateful for.
