Rising Stars: Meet Mallory Mundy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallory Mundy.

Hi Mallory, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I fell in love with people and entrepreneurship at a very young age. Growing up with my father, I’ve been around sales my entire life. I started in fashion and in the service industry and then made my way into real estate when my husband and I moved to Austin from New Orleans. I fell in love with the process and the relationships that real estate provided me. I started as a sales agent in 2015 here in Texas and quickly made my way into leadership on the brokerage side. I fell in love with having high-level conversations with real estate agents about their business and growth trajectory.

I’m currently a Team Leader for Keller Williams Realty at the Southwest Market Center where I get to serve our agents every day. I’m also one of the founders of The Daily Social Strategy where we provide a monthly subscription service to real estate agents for social media. We also coach and train agents on how to build bigger businesses and brands through social media. My day to day is fun, ever-changing, and just an absolute dream. I love what I do. I love who I serve. And I love seeing all of the success of our agents at KW and in our industry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I love the saying, “Fail Forward”. Without failure, there is no success. I don’t believe the road is ever smooth and that’s the beauty of our business. We get to pave our own way in this industry. I love that we have the freedom to design a life of our dreams and create opportunities that will open doors not only for ourselves but for others. Entrepreneurship and owning businesses is always a roller coaster of ups and downs. It’s not for the faint of heart. But, it’s freedom to build and to grow in a way with no limits.

I remember working full-time while putting myself through college. I remember the sacrifice every weekend, every late night, and early morning because I wanted to earn that degree. I wanted the knowledge and education to make me a better business owner. I didn’t want anything standing in my way. It took me seven long years to graduate but I did it. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with zero student debt. The discipline and sheer determination kept me going but it wasn’t easy.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I help lead the largest real estate office here in Austin. At Keller Williams Realty, we teach agents not how to be salespeople but to build real estate businesses. The Southwest Market Center closed over $5.4 Billion dollars in volume in 2021. That’s big businesses with a B. I’m incredibly proud to be a part of this office for the culture here is life-changing. I’m surrounded by people who think big, build big businesses and give back in a huge way. These people are like my family and I’m so proud to see their success.

I also own my own company, The Daily Social Strategy, where we help real estate agents amplify their presence on social media. We have a monthly subscription service where we strategically curate content each month to help position them as the real estate expert. We also host training classes and social media bootcamps/workshops for real estate agents. Our mission is to help agents find leverage through our services and teach them how to build their brand and tell their story on social media.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited for where we’re going.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe in taking smart, calculated risks. Being a risk taker is scary but with the right research and mentorship, a risk can be life-changing. Working with Keller Williams, I’ve been taught over the years on how to think bigger, invest smarter, and understand rewards come with risk. Sometimes, you just have to trust your judgment and take the leap.
