Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Vonne.
Hi Patricia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
What inspired me to enter into the realm of real estate was my father was a door-to-door salesman for 39 years selling cookware to raise 10 children. He later got his real estate license and encouraged me to do the same because he felt I had a knack for sales. It was a flexible job that I could take on part-time or full-time and a license I could have forever. I’ve had my license for 13 years now and I am very grateful to have it and to be able to help families make one of the most important decisions of their life. I work at Austin Music Realty, a division of Stanberry Realtors which is family owned and celebrating 39 years in existence. Stanberry has a long tradition of excellence driven by strong values and true dedication.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I entered into this field when the market was in a sloth period and no one was buying homes. The market was very slow-moving. Knowing the statistic that 90% of realtors in their first year quit, I was determined to hang in there & forge ahead with the fortitude & conviction that my parents instilled in me. Covid knocked everyone for a loop. It’s the most challenging and crippling market right now and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down anytime soon. Weekly zoom meetings keep us informed with the market.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My heart and passion has always been music, dance, the arts and rock n roll. Born & raised in San Antonio, TX I started my band in NYC back in 1998. I’m a ninth-generation Tejana. I just released my 8th studio album on my own record label Bandolera Records. My music is a cultural menudo of “Castillian & Mexican infusions of flamenco and fiery gypsy guitar meets all- American rock ‘n’ roll” I’m embarking on my European tour this Fall. I am an animator and filmmaker as well. My 4th animation film is nominated for best animation at the Madrid International Film Festival in July and my first short film is nominated at the New York International Women Festival this Month of June & won the best Women Empowerment Short at Paris International Film Festival.
As a musician, I am most proud of the opportunity to represent my state of Texas at the World Expo in Japan, Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, & the United Nations Headquarters in NYC for Artists UNited to help stop human trafficking.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I would think that the most surprising thing the general public does not know about me is the fact that I happily & gratefully worked at the historic Driskill Hotel for 20 years as a licensed massage therapist. It was the perfect supplement occupation for a musician. I cherished that time immensely. And yes the phantoms & ghosts do roam the hallways.
