Today we’d like to introduce you to Flight By Nothing.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We all grew up together in a small town north of Dallas. In our senior year of high school, we decided to form a band together. Two weeks later, we had our first show at a spot in Deep Ellum formerly known as “The Door”. About a year later, Pacco joined the band after seeing us at one of our shows at “The Prophet Bar”. He and Porfii played in a church band about 10 years prior. Porfii and Pacco ran into each other while attending college, that’s when Porfii told Pacco about the show, Since then, we’ve been playing shows around the DFW Metroplex and Austin and San Marcos area. In November of 2021, we decided to make the move to Austin together to pursue music.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most would probably say, the pandemic was a pretty big obstacle for us. No shows, not seeing each other for months and feeling like there was no ending in sight was tough to get through, but we managed to make it out.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We’re a five piece band, we specialize in making music. We’re known for putting on a high energy show! We’re all proud of the music we’ve been making, the shows we’ve been playing, and for the five of us committing to moving down here together to pursue our dreams in music. I think what sets us apart from others are our live shows.
How do you think about luck?
We’re lucky to be doing music together in Austin, TX, we wouldn’t have it any other way!
