Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Blaze Lemmond.
Hi Amber Blaze, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started in a small Texas town called Junction. I was friends with a few people that were involved in the film and entertainment industry. One day I was approached by a producer interested in future opportunities. They knew that I was into fitness and I was just an outdoorsy person in general. They asked me if I would be interested in training to be a stunt person for a lead actress in an independent film called “The Wraith Within”.
New to it, I was very nervous but once we began production, it was one of the best experiences I could’ve asked for. I met some amazing people and learned the ins and outs of how film production works. I even got a small role in the film! I met an amazing woman by the name of Shade DuBois! She took me under her wing and is training me to be a makeup artist in the industry now.
After production, I ventured off into freelance modeling. I did training and numerous classes to try and perfect my craft. I learned that being able to express how beautiful and unique the human body can be is the creative freedom I had shyed away from. The self-love and value you discover once you become a model is a freedom that no one else can give you but yourself. Learning to become a high-value woman is an adventure in itself but a must for everyone. Self-love is power.
In July 2021, I was able to audition for a television show called 1883. I was cast as a “Slavic Emigrant” that traveled the Oregon Trail with the Dutton Family. Being an extra on this film for five months was one of the greatest adventures I’ll always remember.
Out of the group of extras, some of us were chosen for specific parts written in the script. Taylor Sheridan then considered you a “featured extra”. I was lucky enough to be chosen and was featured in the first scene of Episode 3, “River”. My husband, played by Ryan Happy, was tragically run over by our wagon.
After production was over, I took some time off after being on the road for five months. I spent time with my family and loved ones and even substituted at my local ISD. Being a creative artist, I couldn’t stay stagnant for too long. I then took a job and flew to Los Angeles, California to do two music videos. I met an artist by the name of E-Stro and collaborated with him and other artists to make some amazing productions. One of those music videos has been released called “Cap Gun” by E-Stro and the other one is due to be released in August sometime.
I am now focusing my time on acting classes and learning as much as possible about the industry. My happy place is acting in different characters with strong personalities. Being able to express the differences within our country is a very exhilarating experience for me. I look forward to having many more opportunities as an actor. But those opportunities only come after you’ve worked as hard as you possibly can. Good things come to those strive to be better and do better every day.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all. I’ve had so many days where I’ve had self-doubts and questioning my own abilities. You even have others that question your abilities or try and take away from you. But you mustn’t let other people tell your story. You are the only one who can do that. So you take a step back and you look at yourself from a bird’s eye point of view. You then can pinpoint where you’re going wrong and things that you can fix with a little bit of self-love and a lot of hard work. Once you’re able to see yourself in a new light, you can tweak the things that were making you doubt yourself from the beginning. I am grateful for my mentor and friend Shade DuBois. She has always reminded me that there is a light inside of me shining to get out. The only one stopping it is myself.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Being an Actor and Model has been a thrilling experience!
With an actor, I’m able to express different characters in different lights. I am ongoing and training for serious character roles. My bread and butter is being able to do fearful, sad agonizing characters that the audience can relate with. I want the audience to see the emotion and feel the emotion on screen while they’re sitting on their couch.
With Modeling, I like having the freedom of being able to pose stills of the character I’m portraying. I love when my teacher randomly says a pose and I immediately do it even in a public setting away from work. It helps with photo shoots running smoothly as well. The suddenness of the pose she asked for helps battle social anxiety too! I’m a shy person but her tips and tricks have allowed me to grow. My specialties in modeling include fashion, editorial and Bodyscaping.
I am very proud of all the work I’ve done. I don’t think there’s a single thing I could put as number one. Each experience has allowed me to grow as a person. It allowed me to grow as an actor and a model. And nothing can beat that!
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a pretty shy kid growing up. I was bullied a lot for my facial features. So I tended to stay away from large groups of people and cliques. I was really into writing and for a long time, I wanted to become a creative writer like my grandfather. I wrote a few books and short stories. I recently got back into it and have started a screenplay!
I was a sort of class clown too. You can’t take everything seriously, so adding a little humor in your life always can raise one’s spirit.
I’ve always been an artist. I’ve painted ever since I was a young child. I think my favorite style of painting is landscapes. Bob Ross was a big influence in my life as a child. Creating a little world on canvas has always been a wonder to me. I love it!
