Hi Daniel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
DBB Powersports started in 2020, however, my journey with motorcycles began over ten years ago. Both of my parents rode motorcycles since 1980, so I got into bikes from them and began riding in our backyard at 12 years old. I really gained deeper knowledge on motorcycles when I had to fix my first motorcycle (multiple times since it was an 80s model). From there the next big jump into my motorcycle career happened in college. At this time, I started to buy and sell bikes on the side, as well as helping others buy their first bikes and even taught them to ride. I realized I had a good eye for bike deals and was learning more about selling, which led me towards the realization that a good business could come from this “hobby”.
In 2020, I was still weighing out my options when my mentor at the time, Jeff – who had grown his own car dealership, helped me by encouraging me to take the leap of starting my own business. It has been two years since then and the business has only continued to grow as well as I have only continued to gain more experience and knowledge.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting your own business is a great privilege but does come with its challenges. One of the first challenges we faced as a small business was working through the peak of COVID in 2020. We had to learn how to adapt to the various changes in the world and navigate through the need for social distancing. This challenge helped us learn to use social media and virtual interactions to grow our business. Additionally, another big challenge as an entrepreneur starting their own business has been understanding the legalities and tax matters. There is a lot to learn and understand at the beginning with just that area while also trying to focus on growing the business itself.
Although it has not been a smooth road, we have managed to keep our business growing and provide high-quality services to our customers.

Tenacity and persistence are qualities I feel are most important to achieve success. To not only start but successfully grow your own business will include having your fair share of challenges and some failures along the way. Therefore it is important for one to be determined and able to push through, especially in tough times.
