Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonny Lurie.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I started playing violin at 11 and took up guitar about a year later. I played in many different bands over the years, and now my primary focus is recording and playing live as a solo artist, both solo and with my band.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far, would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Music has been great to me. I have a ways to go to be where I want to be, but I’m also very grateful for what I have been able to do so far.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a musician and most known as a guitarist and producer. I write music and lyrics, and I make music under Jonny Lurie and collaborate with other bands and artists. I perform solo, incorporating live looping as well as with my trio. My music is a mixture of Rock, blues, and Hip hop styles.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Networking and having others in your community who you work with and inspire you are great ways to connect with others like yourself and give you an excellent opportunity to grow and learn from one another. Some artists prefer to work solo, and some always collaborate. I like trying to do both.
