Check Out Prithvi Raj Karreddula’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Prithvi Raj Karreddula.

Hi Prithvi Raj; it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I moved to the states in 2015 to pursue my master’s in Environmental Engineering. I never thought I would make a huge turn as a Filmmaker. I grew up shooting some random home videos with my brother and friends. I didn’t-only realize that my calling was to make movies once I quit my job and started pursuing it full-time. Since 2018 I have written and directed 9 shorts, Directed and edited more than 20 music videos, and recently got into Directing commercials. I’m a self-taught filmmaker. I learned filmmaking by constantly making mistakes. Every project, whether big or small, always teaches me valuable things as an artist.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not a smooth journey. Like every artist, I had to make a lot of sacrifices in this process; any new project that I’m working on gives me great excitement and lots of challenges. It’s a painful process but worth it. These challenges shaped me to be a better filmmaker and better person. That’s the most important thing for me as an artist.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
India. I’m originally from Hyderabad, Telangana state, India. We have so many different languages and film industries within our country and unique voices. When I moved to the states, I was very excited to share my voice and involve my upbringing in some way or the other way into my films. I’ve been a writer and director for both English and Telugu films since 2017. I also possess a handful of additional skills in film production, such as cinematography, editing, and music composition. My best-known work is listed on IMDb. “Learning Not To Drown” (2022), “Sleep Baby Sleep” (2022), “Audible Frequency” (2021), “Humans” (2019), and “Bhoomi” (2021).

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check?
I listen to many podcasts; apart from film-related stuff, I also enjoy listening to philosophy, History, Space, and Worship music. I just started reading books, and I love them. I always keep myself updated and adapt as much as possible. Reading, Listening to music, and Podcast always helps me to be creative. It’s all interlinked.
