Check Out Jazz and Jess ’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazz and Jess, hosts of the ‘Sis, Let Me Tell You’ Podcast.

Hi Jazz and Jess, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
We are twin sisters and find ourselves on FaceTime with each other most of the day (our husbands are now used to it). We talk about everything under the sun and constantly have something to discuss. Jess had the idea that she wanted to start a podcast. I hesitated because I needed to figure out if I would have enough time to record and edit a podcast every week. We ended up taking that leap and haven’t regretted it since! Now, Jess and I get to talk to each other for hours with the world listening in on our sibling banter and gossip. Initially, it was a learning curve, but now that we’ve been doing it for over a year, we’ve found our groove! We have a good time doing it.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth? No way! We have learned so much this past year and are still learning a ton! We’ve had editing issues where our voice tracks didn’t sync up, so the audio was off with weird pauses. We’ve experienced publishing difficulties where our episode didn’t publish on time.  We’ve had recording issues where we thought we were recording the whole time and realized we wasted an entire hour and a half – ahhhhh! All things we needed to go through to become better.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We have a weekly podcast called ‘Sis, Let Me Tell You,’ where we discuss celebrity gossip/news, have sibling conversations, and have a good time. We also do an alternating segment where we rotate segments that are addictive. Our listeners often tell us that they find themselves talking back to us although we can’t hear them – so we created a Facebook Group, Instagram page, and TikTok account so that they can join in on the topics/segments themselves. We are currently focused on growing our social media presence. It is such an amazing tool to reach so many different listeners.

We are known for packing in a week’s worth of information into under an hour and a half – so this is a one-stop shop for black celebrity news and gossip. We are most proud of our consistency. We have done the work – and worked hard at it consistently. Our listeners know they will get an episode every Tuesday morning like clockwork. We are also currently being featured by Apple Podcasts in their “New & Noteworthy” podcast section stating that we are one of their current favorites (so exciting)!

What sets us apart is that we are siblings, so we automatically have that banter, that connection that people want to hear/see when tuning in. It comes naturally to us because we are so close; our listeners can feel that. We also now do video episodes exclusively on Spotify (you can listen in anywhere one listens to podcasts) – there aren’t many small podcasts recording video episodes yet, so we are ahead of the curve.

So, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you before we go? How can they support you?
Sharing audiences is important. We love to work with and collab with others. We have guests on our show occasionally and that’s always fun. They can come on the show and be a guest-host or just for a quick, fun segment. We would love to collab with other podcasters, as well. It’s refreshing to experience the different ways that other people podcast.

We have several ways that your readers can support our growing podcast. We welcome all readers to check out our latest episode and see if it’s for you. We also welcome all listeners to give a 5-star rating and glowing review on the platform where they enjoy podcasts – it helps more listeners find us. They can give on CashApp, PayPal, or purchase a monthly subscription to support the many new things that we’re implementing for our listeners. All links can be found on our Linktree (https://linktr.ee/SisLetMeTellYou). We also offer host-read ad space on our episodes for businesses – big or small.
