Hi Kristabel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
NOMA started in October 2022 after discovering my love and passion for beautiful designs, unique and memorable tableware, and a never-ending focus on details when creating a magical event. After having organized essential events for the closest people in my life (bridal and baby shower for my best friend, baptism for my daughter), I realized that Austin market was missing the modern and beautiful items that would have allowed me to bring my vision and ideas for these events into real life. I did not hesitate long and decided to purchase all tables for the event myself. It all started with 20 plates, cups, and flatware and grew to over 20 different plate collections and various flatware and glassware. I quickly learned that more people like me are looking for unique and fun patterns, colors, and designs in tableware.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
It’s always a bumpy road when starting your own business, especially since you have to wear many hats, but that’s the beauty of the challenge. Managing inventory, dealing with suppliers, handling marketing, and content creation are just some of the day-to-day tasks involved in such a business. Still, the result is always worth the attempt. Competing against large companies that have been on the market for years and have strong relationships with other vendors can be challenging. Nonetheless, I have decided to believe in why I started NOMA and put all my energy and effort into it. Seeing my customers love my products and giving me positive feedback makes all bumps worth it!
